Around the garden

I was a busy bee yesterday as I got the spinach and watercress seedlings into my hydroponic tub on the bedroom windowsill so that's all up and running. It's only a small one but did need around 9 litres of nutrient making up.

Next I planted 36 sets of seeds in my seed trays for winter and early next year veg. I didn't get round to replanting the kale seedlings that I have recently germinated but I really need to clear the tomato plants out of the greenhouse and clean it up first. Saturday may be a good day as the tomatoes will surely be about over by then. After all it is late October. I did notice that some chilli peppers were still getting their colour yesterday though.

Where I live the hardwoods are at the peak of the season color wise. Shame it won't last.

We have a few japanese maples. They are lovely, so colourful.

Tomatoes will have to wait until next year now lol. I do have some stem lettuce seedlings which I will plant out in the greenhouse in the next few days. They won't get on as well as yours but hopefully I will get some leaves. My greenhouse is un-heated but last year seeds I planted early December in there did germinate and grow (slowly). I got lettuce in the spring . I'm hoping for results before Christmas this year

New Hampshire in October is so beautiful.

Autumn is the most beautiful season in the year.

Every season has something unique and beautiful to offer. 

Yesterday I cleared out the tomato and pepper plants from the greenhouse. I eat half a dozen ripe current tomatoes and clooected a good handful of green ones. For late November that must be a record
