We are really getting into autumn now. It's a race, in the greenhouse, for the last of the tomatoes and peppers to ripen before cold weather or even a frost comes and finishes them for good. Most of the larger tomatoes are going red though and many of the peppers are changing colour too. The peppers will be Ok as they are though. I picked what I think will be the last cucumber yesterday, unless there is another in hiding. They are so good at that
I have no garden anymore. At least not now. All my hydroponics are put away right now and a lot of my trees were damaged and my papaya destroyed.
Oh no! Hugs to you Karen. Important thing is you and your family are safe. Plus, you'll be able to plant again when you're ready.
And that I will be doing. As soon as things get better around here, a lot of flooding is still going on and not expected to crest until Thursday, I will start looking for replacements.

I expect everyone else will be doing the same?
I am sure all the nurseries will be ding really well pretty soon.

There are a LOT of spiders in my dad's garden. I've lost count of how many I see wandering about or building their webs.
Yesterday I wandered along the lawn, when I accidentally walked through a web. Then - of course - I found a spider on my sweater, so I put her on a different surface, where she wouldn't be harmed.
Now, I am don't mind spiders and am able to handle them: they don't frighten me in the slightest.
Spiders don't usually bother me but I really don'y want a Brown Recluse on me either.
No, some can be dangerous. There are several here that bite I think a bit at the moment as now is the season for them. I go into the greenhouse to pick some of the last tomatoes and end up sticking my head through webs, thinking the spider is there somewhere, and some are quite large. My tomatoes have groun up to overhead so it's like entering a tunnel lol
Just planted some tomatoes and lettuce plants etc for summer.
Good luck with the tomatoes. Mine are now winding down for the winter so they will probably soon be all gone but I am still getting some ripening.
Today I plan to plant some more seeds for veg during the winter and early next year. Last year I did theis in early December so didn't get much during the winter but I am starting earlier this year. My watercress and spinach seedlings are coming on for my in house hydroponics so I may start those today.
A buzzing was driving me crazy. It was coming from behind the tv. On investigation there was a bluebottle trapped in a web. I tried to let it free when a huge spider popped out and ran at me. The speed and size of it gave me a fright, and I really jumped back.
I had to let the fly out, as the noise was driving me crazy, but I did feel guilty...

Sometimes I hear "fantom" sounds and it drives me crazy. I have to find out where it is coming from. i must look really funny checking out every corner until i find it.

Spiders are protective of their prey. Still, no wonder you had a fright: that spider obviously wanted its dinner.

No walker, no cane and the limp is going away. Things are looking up.
