They are lovely flowers Heather. I don't grow many and most of them come in from the wild.
This morning I organised a few plants and looked at the sunflower seedlings but I have a sore thumb and did not want to irritate it with potting a lot of things on so they can wait a few days.
We're thinking of getting a beautyberry.. more food for birds and animals.
Also considering mountain laurel, sweet pepperbush, and lilacs for different spots in the yard... We have nandina growing near the house, but I think it might be better to remove them and replace it with something safer for birds... the berries can be deadly if they ingest too many.

Lilacs are lovely. I have always had one.
Yeah, I'm just not 100% sure if I should get one or not because it's not really native here.. and I'm trying to add more natives as well because I've already been bad and planted things that aren't native xD
Corn speedwell... the cute little weeds I mentioned are all over my yard. I love them.. the flower is smaller than the size of a pinky nail. This one is growing near our outdoor spigot.

I think this is bugleweed.. also randomly growing in the yard in patches in the back and front. I wouldn't mind having this type of groundcover in a lot of places, but it seems to be dying back a bit now.
Got ourselves two beautyberries... will plant them sometime this week. They are empty with barely any leaves right now, so no pictures yet lol I wanted to get something else to feed the birds and squirrels with since we took away their oak tree.
One of the things I got from the nursery today was Calibrachoa. The man who worked at the nursery told me they grow very fast, 2 feet sidewide in 2 months. I will see.

My jalapeños are doing amazing this year. Maybe the best ever for me.
My peppers are very slow off the mark but they may come on a bit when I repot them in the greenhouse. It has been very cold here overnight for the past few days so I am waiting for a day or two. That said my tomatoes, which were doing similarly poorly in little pots, have come on really well since putting them in their final pots and are now showing signs of flowering. My tomatillos are already in flower. The tomatillos will need to be moved outside of the greenhouse when I move the peppers in so the weather is governing things quite a bit.

Good luck with your jalapeños
Thanks Jen and good luck with all your veggies. The weather is always so important, that is the one thing we can't control.
We're likely going to plant our beautyberries today. Looking forward to that... This is the second variety of tree/plant that I bought that was more unique, and it happens to be developed in NC, which is where I live They make some pretty hybrids here apparently!
Beautyberries are planted.. we put them 5 feet from each other, and they are in between our crape myrtle and redbud. Can't wait for them to bud... then flower.. then get the berries. Will share pics when it happens!

I took the plunge yesterday and repotted two of my peppers in the greenhouse. They have been in the house up until now. I have two plants of each variey (two varieties). I went out for a peek this morning and they seem happy enough. According to the charts I have seen the weather here inside a greenhouse is apparently very similar to Florida (at least the northern part) as regards hardiness ratings but one thing we don't have is the amount of daylight, being further north. That means getting things going to get them to fruiting before the days get short again,so I decided they had to get moving
