My tomatoes have made it so far and so I have put my other young plants into the greenhouse too.
I have also brought my first homemade hydroponics tub setup into operation. It's a little experimental at the moment. It's sitting on a windowsill in my workroom upstairs so I hope I don't get a leak lol. I have some further tubs in the greenhouse but they are not being used yet.
I have photos of this plus I have just planted my chilli pepper seeds. The pictures also show some of the cloches in the greenhouse plus some of the plants which have been growing over the winter (and now need thinning again). The little daffodils have been around for a year or two now and flower every year.
So far, our redbud is not flowering... going to still wait to see if it will at least produce leaves later on.. It was the one we thought might have died. However, it is new, so maybe it's not mature enough to flower.. or it used up all of its resources trying to recover from almost drowning... we'll see. I'm not giving up on it yet!

Heather, don't give up on it yet. I( have had so many plants that I thought I have lost and gave them more time and now they are doing amazingly good.
As I mentioned in another thread. My broad beans were knocked down by the snow yesterday. I was out later on when it was snowing staking them up more securely. Some of the stems were broken but not detatched but they are upright now. I will see how they go but some plants will survive at least.
On a happier note - Indoors I have two pots with Venus Flytrap plants. At the end of last summer, because of heat one pot's plants died off. I have been careful with it over the winter and was very happy to see the other day that I have little plants poking their noses through. The pictures are of the pot which was Ok and the one that wasn't :

I was at the local gym with my daughter aged 5. My friend was showing off to her hero, the local doctor's wife. "I have put all of my energy into one side of my garden. Next year, I will do the other! It's still a bit of a mess."
They were a bit slow, I thought but an update on the hydroponic setup I hvae in the house which I posted a picture of in early March. It now has useful Spinach and I have alreay taken the first harvest from it. The other photo shows the similar setup I will try in the greenhouse. It will need a battery powered air pump though as there is no power. I have that but have only setup the tubs and airlines / valves as yet. The three tubs on top are watercress in their nursery germinating pots. Soon to be moved on into one of the tubs.
We cleared the weeds out from our flowers and put some mulch... we just chopped up some leaves and sprinkled it on top. A lot of them didn't make it.. but we should have a decent amount of flowers eventually.. if they flower. With our luck, they won't. We have a bunch of flowering plants that won't flower for some reason... might be the random hard frosts that keep happening after already being warmer for a while.. seems to stop them from doing anything after that.
Well, we went ahead and ordered a new redbud, as we get 1 year warranty on them. It was about to expire, so good thing we checked... we're thinking of maybe relocating the other one "just in case," but it really does seem like it's not going to recover. More branches are getting brittle and dying off.. lots of brown when we scratch different spots, no new growth at all.. so I think the life is just slowly draining out. Poor thing.. we did try to save it... at least the area is amended to not recreate the issue for the next one..

Our lawn got it's first trim a week or two back when it was warmer. In fact I have trimmed it twice since then and was only thinking at the weekend that it could use another one. It didn't happen though.
I was busy on Saturday potting on my tomato plants in the greenhouse. They were not looking too brilliant, probably due to how cold it has been, but the two I have in an hydroponic setup (large pots with inert medium rather than liquid bath) seem to have done better so I thought potting on the little plants into a larger pot with more thermal inertia may help them, They were still happy on Sunday morning so it seems a good move.

It's been an odd winter. Not all that cold, but the cold seems to be stretching out...
Our new tree has arrived.. there's supposed to be another freeze soon, ugh... I hope it will be okay. Not having the best luck with the weather it seems lol
As for our azaleas that didn't die... they are starting to actually fill in and look kind of nice for the first time ever. One is full of flower buds... but IDK if they will open before the freeze.. so we'll see.. but grrrr.... The ones we got are supposed to have mostly white flowers with a line of purple, but every now and then.. a random purple or pink one will pop out.. It's part of why I bought this variety.. some people don't like that, but I thought that sounded fun lol
We are thinking of trying to replant some of them in the spots where they died.. and just being more careful about watering this time, as perhaps they had the same issue as our redbud. We have a lot of clay, and it seems to drown the plants even when amending the soil... so even if instructions say to water multiple times a week for months... I think I won't do that this time around.

Our soil has lots of clay too. Although I mostly use planters for my veg other things do grow in the garden. It has taken years for some parts to have better soil but much of the garden can be either sopping wet or rock hard dependant on whether it is winter or summer. It seldom gets dry enough for plants planted in the garden to need watering though but it does take some plants years to get used to it. My neighbour planted a little tree one year which, for several years appeared almost dead. Then one year it suddenly burst into life and started to take over.
Not entirely sure what this is, as I used a wildflower mix... could be a blue-eyed grass of some sort, but it looks a little different than most images I've seen online.
