Hello Mary: you've got skills. Plus, you must have a strong stomach to clean hospital wards. It is a job I simply could never do. It'd literally be impossible for me to handle it.
I feel sick just thinking about it.
Yeah it's pretty disgusting sometimes. I've gotten pretty used to it though. Just certain things are tough to deal with. I find breathing through my mouth and not looking directly at things helps. LOL!
Blood guts and broken things Im ok with but a kid with a snotty nose or vomit and Im chucking my cookies.

I used to find nursing homes the worst but sometimes private homes. The feeling I got when kneeling on the floor to get to some equipment from underneath a patient's bed, next to realise I was getting wet knees
Usually it was after the event and the carpet was just wet with washing but I did feel queasy for some time after.

Kitchen clean-up done for today! Yesterday I got the older boys to try my fave brand of gloves for washing dishes (Vileda blue gloves that say Comfort Plus - fancy! Hee hee.) and all three boys did the dishes with a few pointers from me.

I remember turning up at one client's house and as they opened the door the smell of a hundred cat trays hit me. I was then shocked to find they didn't actually have cats...
A good tip in nursing homes... don't use the lifts. A small space with carpeted floors that never gets aired ewww
I shall be washing a load of laundry as usual today. I also keep on top of the washing up and will be airing out my apartment.
It's a good time now to air things out as the weather has improved. It's avoiding the flies though lol. Still as you have a super clean apartment there will be little to attract them.

That is part of the reason I am so clean & tidy: I don't want insects in my home. The thought of having flies and ants in my home makes me feel sick. The only bug in my apartment is the odd spider.
Plus, living in a hygienic home is important to me: it is what gives me pride and shows people I care about myself.

I used to go to a small care home with an ancient lift. I never used it, I just put my equipment in it, pressed the button, and walked up the stairs to meet it.
I didn't like the scraping, and creaking sounds it made.

In the OR sometimes they request a room to be cleaned before they've removed a limb that was cut off like cuz of gang green. There's no way I could go in and do that. NO WAY

Are not the medical staff supposed to take away the body parts first before the room cleaning? Sounds counterproductive to me.

I would be stunned if there was not a VERY formal procedure for disposing of body parts as large as that.

I agree and I'm sure there is but sometimes if they need one of the rooms cleaned cuz they've got an emergency or something some of the rules go by the wayside depending on urgency.

There is I'm sure. We don't touch that stuff and there's no damn way anyone will ever make me. LOL! I'm just saying sometimes they hafta clean the room with that shit still in it. I guess they clean around it? I don't know if they cover it up or not. Just the thought makes me wanna barf.

My dad repainted my bathroom yesterday. He also fitted in a new toilet seat the other week. I am keeping on top of the cleaning: because it is such a small apartment, I can't afford to have piles of stuff. It would get very cramped and claustrophobic and would reek my housing block out.
I am vigilant about keeping on top of dirt and mess. I also don't want insects making my apartment their home.
After all the house paint now comes some of the clean up. I did coat the living room outside windowsill with vaseline though so hopefully the paint drips will just wipe off.

Is that easier than masking with newspaper?
What colour did you go for? I know the traditional Lincoln colour is pink, but you rarely see it anywhere.

The house has a bit of a mock tudor effect with mahogany coloured beams and white panels and is stained. It looks nice so better kept like that. It has upvc windows so it was easy to smear the sills. The stain tends to stain the plastic which can be hard to get out although that was more with the older petroleum based type. This time it is the more modern water based and it does seem easier to remove anyway. I will see how it goes but it seems the way things are going. I have previously covered the sills with old rags but this seems a more positive way and was easier to apply.
I don't know about the traditional Lincoln colour being pink. Most places around used to be painted a similar green to British Racing Green at one time.

I gave my bathroom and kitchen a clean today. But I couldn't wipe down surfaces with anti-bacterial wipes: they've vanished. I am annoyed about that. I guess I will just have to go to the shops tomorrow and buy some.
