I gave my bathroom and kitchen a clean today. But I couldn't wipe down surfaces with anti-bacterial wipes: they've vanished. I am annoyed about that. I guess I will just have to go to the shops tomorrow and buy some.
It's a pain.
I often find that the biggest pain is often trying to find room for all the different cleaning agents that I have.

It is even harder finding room to store all your cleaning products in a one-bedroom apartment. That is why I am vigilant about editing all my cleaners and other items.
I have put on a load of laundry and am airing out my apartment. I also keep on top of the washing up.

Same here. I also have some that I used once, didn't work well and now sit in the cleaner graveyard in the back of a cupboard.
I know things I cannot use anything by ajax for instance. They cause a bad skin reaction. Even if I wear gloves my tattoo gets raised like a raw welt mark. I avoid most sprays because of OH. The propellants are very bad fot his lungs and could kill the parrot.
White vinegar and baking soda do a lot of jobs at pennies compared to all those very environmentally damaging, very expensive, wipes, sprays and chemicals. Gold soap or soft soap are good for stains. Again they cost pennies compared to the commercial fancy names.
I keep to natural things where I can and almost never use sprays but there are times when a particular cleaner is superior for the short time it is needed. Like yesterday when I used "The Pink Stuff" to clean paint stains from my uPVC window sills after my recent painting. It worked very well. I bought it some while ago but have seldom used it.

I bought myself anti-bacterial wipes yesterday and used them to clean my apartment. Killing bacteria is very important: what with COVID-19. I clean for my health, rather than home vanity purposes.
Today I have been washing two loads of laundry. I also am airing out my apartment, as I do.

We had a couple small cleaning jobs left from yesterday, and I've dealt with them myself while there's a cold going around the house. Back to normal when no one's sick!
We'll probably get the vacuuming done later. Garbage and recycling tomorrow, then there isn't anything left for the weekend but keeping up with dishes and any laundry we feel must be done. Nice to rest on the weekend!
I don't even remember what the folks are like at our landfill, but I just don't like going. Still haven't determined why.
I haven't found a problem with the staff at all, in the past. One time I remember being stopped at the gate and when I said I had a TV a workman picked it out of the boot and I didn't have to go in at all. I don't like going though because there is sometimes loose nails and things scattered around so I worry about getting a puncture. I am reminded of the time when I went with a friend and luckily noticed an upturned nail directly in the track of their car tyre so was able to remove it before they drove over it.
One annoyance I have noticed though is that you can check times etc online but they suggest checking on Twitter before leaving home for last minute changes. I don't use Twitter and I suspect many others don't either. Not useful at all

Did they hit you with sticks?
No, definitely not.
I can tell you when I liked trips to the dump - when I was a kid and we just backed up to the junkpile, meaning we could take home things we could use that others had dropped off. Got one of our cats that way when she was a kitten!

It's sad; it's still regularly in the news about dogs and cats.
Here these days dumps are so regulated that I suspect you would be almost certain to end up in court on criminal charges of theft for taking discarded junk.
I had a clearout yesterday, finally taking the old TV to the recycle. I ended up taking two other TV's, a portable and a tiny portable too, as well as a set top box, set top aerial and a video player too. I do wonder how such things accumulate sometimes as they were never used in the past few years.

Good for you!
It is always important to take stock and have a clearout once-in-a-while. Plus, someone out there would love those items: AND make use of them.

I so regret giving my video player away. I have a video in the house, and I don't know what is on it. It could be film of my kids, tv progs, or even personal of my ex and I.

I actually still have one and occasionally use it.

You could get it transferred to dvd or downloaded. There are places that do it for a few pounds

I hadn't realized this myself: but you're completely right. I'd definitely do as Cassie advises.
I have cleaned my bathroom and kitchen this morning: I just wanted it done, in spite of it being early morning. I also cleaned my lounge tables and changed my table cloths. I will be washing a load of laundry later this morning, too.

You never know. I know I have never had any of the family on video but I know that I do have a recording of me and my sister plus the dog we used to have on one of the old reel to reel recording tapes. It was recorded when we were children. It's one of the jobs I have never got round to, transferring the recording onto the computer. I do have the old recorder somewhere although it hasn't been used for years.
