Suggestions, New ideas, Questions, and Feedback for the WOF

Heather, I'm an honoured although strange member! I just like the ou thing.

I know that I'm "The Birthday Girl", but I don't think that I'll give out birthday wishes to those that have been members for awhile without  being online since they joined.  They wouldn't be here to see the recognition anyway..

Uh-oh . . . another Jennifer just joined today. You'll be able to tell us apart though because she's a Jenn and I'm a Jen.

Would you all prefer to have threads with polls in it in one place, or would you prefer they still be in the board related to what the poll is about?

I can see polls are not popular here.
Why?

Polls allow opinion snapshots.

They are very valuable when used properly.

One issue with our WOF poll is it is rudimental.

Up or down polls are old school, and largely unused today.

Modern Likert polls allow scaling, where an individual
can indicate a rate of agree or disagree to any number of questions.

Can we do this, I hope?

LOL The thing about polls is, there are four to six of us regulars. A couple more "quite" regular, and the rest come and go.

If everyone fills them in, we could actually hit double figures, and considering we are a worldwide forum, I am not convinced it will be terribly indicative of the planets population's opinions.

I know people with more siblings............

Were you hoping to quote them to world leaders by any chance?

As the forums have grown with new members in the last few weeks I think that tidiness is becoming more important. Currently we are getting an awful lot of new threads appearing.

If we are  not careful we are going to end up with a million threads and only a few posts in each.

So

Before adding a new thread please consider that it might sit nicely in one of the existing threads.

The funnies are an obvious example, and I personally reckon that they have more impact, when they are all in together.


Likewise, please dont post new threads in the members only part of the forum unless they are personal, and you do not wish them to be shared with the general public.

Good examples of this would be personal pictures, selfies, sexual issues or relationship tales, or any form of advice seeking.

But please don't stop posting new threads or new stuff, that is the last thing we want.

This is a great site, let's all look after it.
