I am only able to drink coffee in ice coffee form?
I love the smell of roasting coffee..
My drink is tea, we drink hot water with lemon and ginger in the morning but I do like green tea or teas with fruit infusions , earl grey (must be good quality) white tea or real chinese tea.
I do drink builders tea Typhoo with milk..in a mug!
Neither for me. I don't do caffeine at all and I do know that there is decaffeinated out there. Sometimes i will do a herbal tea but not as much as i used to.

Arabica coffee is lower in caffeine from what I understand. It is the robusta beans that are high in caffine. I always buy Arabica, but must admit that I am not heavily affected anyway unless I have a lot of coffee.
Your point 4. Pour the coffee through a tea strainer into your cup is a good idea Popcorn&Candy. The strainer is somewhat worn on my caffetterie so I may take it up. I would point out that the brewing temperature of tea ideally depends on the actual tea as green teas are often brewed at lower temperature than black teas. A good tea shop should be able to give advice. Some of the tea I buy has the advice on the packet.
When I am in a tea mood I have various pots and special cups but like coffee too. There is a good tea shop in Lincoln which has lots of teas and coffees: Tea shop
I don't drink coffee at all but I'm a huge tea lover and must have at least 3 different kinds available in my cupboard AT ALL TIMES!!!
1. Green tea: only make it in the morning if I feel sleepy and need a kick. I use boiling water and let it sit for about 10 - 15 minutes, so it gets nice and strong.
2. Fruit tea (rarely also herbal tea): am or pm, boiling water, let it brew for up to 15 minutes.
3. Peppermint tea: am/pm, ideally pm/evening for its relaxing and calming properties, boiling water brewing for 15 minutes unless I am making a single cup in which case I do not remove the bag at all until I am done drinking the tea.
Occasional special after lunch treat: Teekanne white tea, boiling water, 5 - 10 minutes, let cool a bit, teaspoon of honey, lemon juice.
Out of these 3, peppermint is a priority and I never allow my supplies to go under 5 tea-bags. I'm such a hoarder and I don't know if I should cry or laugh lol. Would love to try as many teas as possible, but somehow I always stick to these classics when I go shopping...
I don't care for those. Only time I drink that is in desperation. LOL! I did try the little coffee bags that are like a tea bag only with coffee. Those weren't bad.
i've used boiling water for tea my whole life. never had a bad cup of tea unless the tea was just a gross flavor.
i'm a coffee person. i prefer keurig and the little pods so it's fresh but that's an expensive habit.
i prefer honey in my tea.
i prefer flavored creamers in my coffee. as i'm again i find i'm enjoying dark roast coffees more.
I think it's mostly down to preferences. When I was out visiting patients I always used to ask for coffee if they suggested making me a drink because I found many teas did not taste good to me whereas I can drink coffee almost anyway. A lot of it is down to the milk, I think, as it seems to vary as to type and the amount put in etc. I also drink everday tea sweet but the amount of sugar needs to be pretty precise, so all in all I am fussy with tea lol.
I have recently taken to using honey in coffee. I had some old honey to use up and substituted it over the winter. I found it was helping with my throat (I cough a bit sometimes) so I have continued.
For anyone interested I have found this guidance on tea temperatures but in no way do I go to those lengths, or ever even measure the water temperature. Usually just after boiling for black tea and cooled a few minutes for anything else (I made a link but it failed so here is just the temperatures from there):
Some general guidelines for the different categories of tea follow if temperature information isn't available.
White teas: 160–185°F (71–85°C)
Yellow teas: 175°F (79°C)
Green teas: 140–190°F (60–88°C)
Oolong teas: 180–200°F (82–93°C)
Black teas: 190–200°F (88–93°C)
Pu'er teas: 200–212°F (93–100°C)

I have a Breville teamaker. I drink so much tea (and make homemade iced tea) that it's worth using something more expensive than a simple tea kettle. I can get the temperatures just right by pressing the button for which type of tea, and also steep to the strength I want.
I drink decaf for my black or green teas, and lots of herbal! Caffeine messes with blood sugar levels, and I can't afford that. Hard enough figuring out when I can indulge in dessert or mocktails with their higher sugar content!
As for coffee, it's too bitter for me. The flavoured stuff can smell great, but it's still coffee. And if I have to add a lot to it in order to like the taste, then I might as well start with tea.

Hello Rebecca! It is KitKatKitty here! Glad to see you around these parts.
Funnily enough, Rebecca, I also need sugar in my coffee: I can't drink it straight. I drank my caffetterie coffee this morning and put in two teaspoons of sugar. With tea I need no sugar: just milk. Because I LOVE tea. Coffee is still nice and a daily treat, but it isn't my favourite!
Sugar is one reason why I have herbal teas as I drink these without sugar. I found a tub of dried nettles I have had a while in the cupboard the other day. Nettle tea, at least home made, seems very dry when pure but I add some mint which improves it greatly.
Thank you all for the tips on the tea! I'd try the tips with water next time I make some. Forgot to try to replace sugar with honey too. So many experiments to do. I've been trying to cut down my tea intake since my constipation was really bad, otherwise I'd have it every morning (and possibly evening) and try out all these tricks ASAP lol!
I've always wanted to try more variations of tea. Tried Dilmah's assorted flavors (e.g. English Breakfast, Darjeeling, etc.) but Earl grey is still the most impressive one. Can't remember if I've tried peppermint, it's time to try again. Tried a combination of jasmine and green tea, turned out they were better separately.

I drank my caffetterie coffee this morning, as I do most mornings. I do love drinking coffee. Tea is also my favourite. I tend to stick to good old fashioned Tetley Tea or PG Tips. I never put sugar in my tea but I DO put two teaspoons of sugar into my coffee. I can't stand bitter coffee.
I used to really enjoy English Breakfast and Darjeeling, also Lapsong Souchon, but Assam was my favourite.
Do you not drink them anymore?
I tried to mix honey to my Earl Grey just now, sad because I feel like they negate each other so the resulting taste becomes kinda bland. I wonder if it's because the honey I used has a fruity flavor as well.

A teamaker. I think you're supposed to boil the water, then get it to just the right temperature before putting in your leaves or teabag - versus boiling and dumping in the tea immediately. My machine makes it easy for me by beeping when I'm supposed to put in the tea, then beeping again when it's steeped to the setting I had it.

I lost the taste of tea when I gave up smoking.
That sounds sad. But you can taste coffee like usual?
I was trying to wait a little after boiling water for my tea this morning, but then my parents came, poured the water, and started boiling water for their coffee loool!

Oh yes, I still enjoy coffee. I do enjoy peach tea too.
Perhaps the only time I drink diet coke, or preferably diet pepsi, is when I am having a meal out somewhere. As I am usually driving I don't drink and usually pefer cold to tea or coffee.

I tend to be the nominated driver, so diet cola for me in the bars.
