Whoever is first to get up on a morning puts the kettle on to make a cup of tea whilst we are getting ready for work.
I used to love tea, I never had less than three different leaves on the go. Then I gave up smoking, and found that tea tasted like dishwater with milk........
I still try it every so often, and it still tastes like dishwater....

It's probably something you get used to over time (or not).
We used to take sugar in our tea but went over to sweeteners. It took a while to convert but we wanted to reduce our sugar intake for healthier bodies, so we had a good incentive.
There are sweeteners and then there are sweeteners. We tried all the different brands and the one we found the most pleasant of them all is 'Splenda.'
We only drink Tetley tea. A preference we came to after trying a few other brands, but we don't like any of the flavoured varieties.

If you like 'ordinary' teas, English Breakfast tea is worth a try, and much nicer than Tetley.

I think that if we didn't actually like Tetley tea we would probably try another blend - something like the English Breakfast tea you suggested. For now though we will stick to what we have got used to, but thank you for the alternative option

When I have black tea I drink almost any brand as long as it is strong, and I have it black too. Often some of those well known branded varieties stew very quickly and don't taste good so I avoid them. I find cheaper tea is often better in that respect although I often buy that marked strong.

When I have green tea I prefer it very delicate.
They are really very different, at least for me.
I tried so hard to enjoy green tea. I almost made it too...

I drink decaf green tea, and will add vanilla syrup if the regular taste isn't doing it for me. (I also tend to flavour my milk, so really, I'm a picky beverage drinker!)
Although I don't have it these day and usually drink tea black I do remember when I was in my teens and younger. I used to like my tea with condensed milk - very sweet
