I don't know why y'all insist on going into large crowds and putting yourselves at risk. What is so bad about staying home and staying safer? It only takes 15 min of exposure to get Covid. Being on a ship with nobody masked and breathing in everyone else's air is just asking for trouble. I don't understand why anyone would want to invite Covid, RSV, or the flu into their life. I'd rather remain a recluse. My life is worth more than that than to go endangering it on purpose.
You wouldn't ever catch me on a cruise, but that predates COVID lol I don't like being trapped like that.
Wow, I'll go on a cruise in a heartbeat. I've been on over twenty cruises with no issues. Not that at it can't happen.
i'm also looking at it from the big picture. everyone it affects. from the spreader to the healthcare workers and to the bodies on the slabs. and every single person in between. my mother died needlessly because they kept running to the drs offices instead of doing telemed. and mom had to go in and have surgery so she picked it up somewhere. waiting rooms are notorious for having unmasked people because they simply don't care about anyone but themselves. it sickens me. but it's my problem not yours.

Me neither. It's the thousands being crammed in that puts me off before even thinking about what's available but, on looking at things, I cannot see that it is my type of thing anyway. I do like boats though and would go on a much smaller boat, even if it was thrown about a bit. If I were in the navy I would prefer a destroyer to a battleship
For me any holiday that includes groups of people is a complete no no. I wouldn't go on a bus tour holiday, I wouldn't go to one of those holiday camps and a cruise is my worst nightmare being stuck on a floating caravan with a whole load of people that I cannot escape from is absolutely the worst ever.
My perfect holiday is a house in the woods or the mountains with no neighbours no one for miles around , just me, my husband, my dog's and the sounds of nature and I realise that to most people that sounds dreadful. So I think it's just great that we can all agree to disagree and there are so many choices..
I wish everybody who goes on a cruise the best time ever but for me eew no.
My SO caught something from work... I don't seem to be getting many symptoms so far other than a mild discomfort in my throat, so maybe I'm in the clear. He is having a fever, sore throat, and mild cough. He got a covid test done that was negative, but they said to recheck in case it was a false negative, but they did say there is something going around that they don't know what it is yet. Hope it's not a new virus entirely, just a strain that wasn't as common right now or something.
Aside from that, still wearing my heart event monitor until Friday. I have been having slightly less palpitations for the last few days... we've been mainly relaxing and watching TV, so hm.
I also had my thyroid blood work, and I'm going more toward hypo again on 5mg. I asked to take 2.5mg 3 times a week to get it going back up a bit. Was hoping to get it more toward the middle range and staying there. I haven't been below 5mg in a long time, so this is a surprise lol I've been taking a lot of supplements that I read is good for GD, and maybe they're actually helping somewhat.
heatherly, COVID or a new virus/bacteria, I hope your SO get well soon. I hope you also get right on your dosages that work for you. Sounds like you already know how to listen/feel to your body's requirement.

Probably nothing to worry about, just wait for a few days and see what happens.

Hoping he feels better soon. Most of the time it is nothing to worry about but I can understand the concern with everything we have gone through in the last couple of years.

There's always a line to draw, and we all have to draw our own.
I recently upped my amount to see if it would help with heart palpitations (still less than 50% of recommended daily via supplementation, working my way up), but sounds like I can up it quite a bit more.

I eat plenty of nuts at lunchtime, and I have a magnesium supplement.

I might be lower than most in a lot of vitamins because I'm gluten free. Most of the GF foods are not fortified with anything, so I have been taking some of the general things that would usually be found in fortified foods to make up for it. In the US in particular, I read a study about how they think we have a magnesium deficiency crisis, and if people actually supplemented, then it might prevent a lot of diseases that are prevalent here. They didn't even mention using it for dementia, so sounds like there's a lot of reasons to have more of it!
Those symptoms fit with my symptoms. It all made sense when I read the link you posted. I even had the numbness and tingling in my hands: this fitting with the symptoms listed.
I shall share this with my doctor: she will be very interested to know this further information.
And thank you, a_muppet: you've diagnosed what I wondered I had. I KNOW I have coeliac now.

The treatment is mostly around adjusting what you eat, and avoiding what you shouldn't. AFAIK.

Dont jump the gun. Although you can try GF food its best to talk with your GP because there is a huge difference between a mild intolerance and actual coeliac illness.
I have mild lactose intolerance my son had an allergy ( which has improved with time hes 38) where I might get bloated or need the loo more often if Ive had a lot of dairy he would get serious bowel problems, vomiting, serious pain and skin blisters.
I had a patient who was supposed to be taking blood thinners to prevent another stroke.
"But I always take them if I feel my blood getting thicker!"
OMG
Depending on the blood thinner, that could be quite dangerous. Warfarin requires the blood to be stabilized prior to using it. If it isn't, one could get ulcers. I don't know how long one would have to be off it before that is required, but it's nothing to mess around with.

I'm sure I got grade 3 piles now. Started small then got bigger during pregnancy. I had a recent constipation probably due to eating too much red meat and less fibres, vegetables on vacation. One episode of constipation has made my piles causing me pain now. It's the 3rd day and usually the ointment (with hydrocortisone content) does the trick but not this time. Anyone who knew did a LASER surgical removal of piles? I can't find any article showing that LASER can treat grade 3. I don't know if we do the LASER technique here and if not, I'm already thinking of traveling abroad to get it done. I dread having the conventional surgery. I tried seeing a doctor soon but the only available appointment is in a week time

Luckily it's not something I have had to investigate but I have found that my current diet which includes lots of fruit and vegetables (think ten a day rather than five) usually keeps constipation issues at bay. Too much protein without fibre can soon mess up my digestion.

I once had a little one and that was bad enough. Good luck.
4th day and getting better. First time this bothered me so much. I generally have more grass 😀 than meat on my plate but vacation got the better of me. I’m back to healthy diet now. Also, back on cereals/porridge every morning. I also gained 1.4kg ☹️ It’s hard to lose weight. I love my rice🤣
