Regarding testing for anxiety disorders, with cuts to the MH budget being implimented in almost every country in the developed world it seems unlikely that this will taken up.
Also while its true that many women deveop anxiety problems MH strikes at both genders and suicide is highest among men from 18 -40.
M<aybe its just time that we acknowldged that MH issues from a mild depression to full blown psychoses need attention and should be taken seriously to avoid long term damage to the person themself and the wider family. It should also be taken into account the economic impact the MH has on society. Treatment might not seem so expensive if one considers the impact a suicide or long term hospitalization has on the economy..

Definitely. I personally believe everyone should have mental health checks regularly, same with preventative annual visits.
I have Anxiety brought on by Menopause supposedly. But looking back... I always had anxiety, my parents just didn't realize what it was. I thought I was normal back then. I think MH issues need way more attention in todays world. It's sad that people suffer in silence not believing they can be helped and their misery can be managed, or reduced.
As you know my daughter is a psychologist. She was telling me that she wanted to study criminals and their teeth. It seems that criminals, irrespective of success or wealth tend to have worse teeth than average, and tend to visit the dentist less frequently.
Also when OH got his dementia diagnoses the doctors emphasied the importance of regular sleep because its shown to help slow some of the effects of the disease.
I had my eyes tested, this is vital because Graves disease affects the eyes, but my pressure was good and my long vision is 150% of normal for my age and my reading/short vision is only 0.25 worse than two years ago when I last had new glasses so I ordered a new pair of reading glasses which are 100% paid by insurence..
As for the money I had earmarked for glasses ....I spent half on a new monitor..

I hear TED is more common in those who had RAI... well, aside from those are not being treated at all of course.
I have not had my eyes checked in a long time. My glasses are over 10 years old lol

I hadnt heard that what I did read while I was in isolation is that many people had found that it was only when their eyes started to be a problem that doctors took them seriously.. But by then for many it was too late and they needed surgery to correct the situation.

Here is some thoughts on the matter (some possible reasons as to why RAI might cause TED to worsen or be more prevalent). I am in some online groups that discuss this as well, but I wouldn't know for certain either way.
My eyes were bulging initially, but the medications brought it down. My goiter never went away.
I have also been hearing about a new treatment for TED that is supposed to be pretty effective. A medication of some sort I think... I don't recall the name.
