OH is still coughing, sometimes more than ever but wood burner season is appoaching and that always sets him off. It makes him so tired he is falling asleep all the time and has no energy.
He is convinced its something nasty but at least he isnt hiding away, he is happy to go and find out exactly what..
Who knows, it could be just a case of adjusting his meds and an inhalor ...
Cassie, I hope everything is okay and works out well.

Even after the salbutamol his sats were 91. His tests showed he is under the norm for lung function. The doctor is worried that this could be COPD.
She has ordered blood work, xrays, sputum culture, given him an inhaler and she wil call in two weeks to share the results and see how he is. Then provided theres nothing urgent needing attention she wants a follow up at the hospital in 2-3 months to check progress.
At least hes in the system getting help to solve or ease the problem.

It's not what you need to hear at this time of year Cassie but he is getting support. Hopefully the inhaler will help somewhat. Does he do breathing exercises as well?

Thats the other thing she has referred him for, an appontment with the nurse who will teach him some breathing techniques and make sure he is using his inhaler to its full effect

It sounds as if your doctor is doing their best.
What annoies me is the GP, she said his xray was fine no infection and he was ok...But I could hear his breathing wasnt right by ear! Yesterday the doctor confirmed his sats were not great and there are crackles at the bottom of his lungs..
I think our Gp needs glasses and a hearing test.
Yet again I know if I wasnt around or wasnt as mouthy and pushy as I am then he would be left to suffer..

I keep saying this, but if you want proper care, you need to be mouthy, and complain. Do you really need health care providers to like you?

Well, one of my thyroid levels is hypo, and the others will follow suit if we don't reduce my meds asap.. we increased my meds quite a bit to knock it down faster, and I think it went faster than the doctor thought it would lol I feel crummy.. My blood glucose was also low, but I drank a lot of water right before, and I read that can lower the levels.. oops. I'm usually mildly dehydrated during my labs, and it throws off some of my liver values, so I over-corrected

It sounds a bit complicated. I hope things settle soon

It definitely is... it's like a yo-yo for many months until you get to the right range. Each side feels terrible for different reasons... even the chronic fatigue is slightly different feeling. Hopefully I'll start to feel a little better again in about a week... I just need it to raise slightly to be in an acceptable range.

When it comes to hormones, it's easy to get that pendulum swinging. Hope it settles soon.
Whats good for aches and pains? I'm sure I am going to have plenty of them in the next few days.
NSAIDs ;p
Curcumin helps with inflammation, too, but I don't think you notice results that quickly.. it's something you have to take for a bit, and then you notice it was working once you stop lol

I'll try anything right now. I have pains where I didn't know I could get them.

Please take it easy Karen and do things slowly now the urgent things are over. You need to wind down and recover as you have had an active time of things lately

Thanks Jen, I did so much yesterday and as I mentioned in an earlier post I am taking it easy today.
Karen, you need to do stretching exercises, I know they are not easy, but it gets the blood moving, and healing is a lot quicker. Don't push it though.

I have a turmeric tablet daily. I keep in good health.

Cherry, you had mentioned that before some time back and I remembered. I have been doing some stretching and it seems to be helping some.
