Oh gosh, imagine if our memories had to be overwritten to make space for new ones xD We would need to upgrade our brain space like in Johnny Mnemonic.. but just for general use.

Never be sorry for being too sick to carry out daily tasks: if you're sick Cassie, you're sick. Any decent human being would understand this and cut you some slack. Don't carry on until you fall down: make rest time for yourself. Even if it is just ten minutes on the sofa every day. You don't have to carry on no matter what.
Really pleased with OH he went for his doctors checkup yesterday . The new nurse finally admitted that he is not at risk of diabetes although she said he does have a bit of a tummy ( he is 64 ) but his weight is fine at 75 kilos.
He is a heart/lung patient but she did his BP twice just to make sure she was seeing it right 110 /60 and his lung function test was near normal.
The changes we have made to our diet and our living surroundings as well as our daily walks are all keeping him fit and well.
The nurse has said he doesnt need to come for 3 month check ups any more and she will see him this time next year.

When they start spreading out check up as far apart as that, it's the best possible sign.

That's good to hear! A year sounds infinately better.
Today in the news (uk ) the announcement of a new drug to fight obesity called Saxenda.( liraglutide)
It will only be given to those with a BMI over 35 ( I read although reports differ) .
A similar drug Ozempic (semaglutide) is used here to treat type 2 diabetics.
It works by supressing appetite and I know it works. My friend is /was a type 2 diabetic since the early 1980's and her weight had steadily increased as had her need for insulin. She was introduced to the Ozempic pen which is a once a week injection 2 years ago by a new consultant at our local hospital. Since then her need for insulin has steadily reduced, she has lost 25 kilos and now she uses Zero insulin... Yep totally insulin free just one jab of Ozempic per week..
Its a very exciting breakthrough that could save countless people from the awful effects of diabetes.

Ozempic was advertised a lot here during the Olympics. I finally had to look it up, though I didn't go with the brand name and give them a boost in searches! It was interesting reading and led me on a tangent to check if I'm doing all I can for my hypoglycemia. Turns out it's likely reactive hypoglycemia, meaning it depends on what I just ate and whether my blood sugar will be good or crash. (Otherwise there's fasting hypoglycemia. Yeah, I don't go long without food, so I'd rarely have to worry about that. LOL)
Good news is I'm doing what I should, and it's all dietary changes and no medicine needed. Also, it's the healthier way to live for anyone, so there's an upside to this condition!
So I phoned back my doctor today.. When I went in she was sure it was the osteoarthritis, yesterday thay said it isnt that but could be thriroid related... Phone back
Ive just phoned back and now they say it isnt that at all and the only thing they can find is that my vitamin D is slightly low... Not badly but slightly.. I take vit D every day 200% daily reccomended amount in one pill.. I know we live in the North!
Now they think taking an extra one will cure my problems.. I have hip and foot pain, shooting pains up my shin that made me jump as if I had touched a live socket. My right hand is constantly painful and opening a jar or gripping anything is almost tear inducing. My elbows and shoulder ache too. I limp like an old lady and Im in constant pain..
1 extra vitamin D ?
I cant wait until I move and get a new doctor I hate this practice and Im stuck with them.

I know vitamin D is important but it isn't a miracle drug. You do need a new doctor.

Do they offer vitamin D injections? My SO was looking into them, and they might raise your levels more effectively than the supplements. Could be worth a try if your levels are staying low.
I have the same problem where my levels don't ever get very high, and for those with autoimmune diseases in particular, our range should be even higher is what I'm always told.
Is there any creams they can give to help with the OA? And something for nerve pain? I don't think the vitamin D alone is all you're going to need, and really even if raising your levels eventually helps.. you're still suffering now. I think they should offer more options.

No offer of injections the doc said take an extra over the counter tablet.
With the oa they say take paracetamol. They really are useless.
So I will try for a month ask for new blood work and a referral to someone who can tell me what is going on.

Yes sometimes
I remember the doctor in a village I moved into in my teens. He was univerally called 'Dr Disprin' in the community because of his prescribing habits.
Your prompt finally got me round to reading this as I saw it yesterday sometime. It also had me standing on one leg too lol. I was going well until I looked at the clock to count the seconds
A dreadful waste. Of course for those with the disease that false hope may have given them a placebo effect and helped them to live a happier life. Until of course they couldn't.
More worrying are those who have been denied help because their brain scans showed no signs of plaques and so dementia was ruled out.
