I have always looked at chemo as poisoning the body.
It's unfortunate when that's one of the few treatment options even offered. We really need to invest in safer treatments that don't cause more havoc to the system... and don't charge an arm and a leg for it either!

Exactly Heather. I honestly feel we have the ability to do it now.
Estimating dose-response relationships for vitamin D with coronary heart disease, stroke, and all-cause mortality: observational and Mendelian randomisation analyses
It makes me feel good about avoiding palm oil, as I do, and keep with the real butter and minimal processed food
I wish I could avoid it 100%. I do try to the best I can, but it's in so many products over here. I hope we can transition away from it one day (I think I heard Italy did years ago)... the main reason I originally wanted to avoid it was because of deforestation... but I think at least some of them switched to sustainable ways over time... but now this?! There are much healthier oils out there.. I use them in my cooking lol

I got an ingredients book many years ago which slated it then. That was well before the current push. I think that it is probably just the current 'cheapest' ingredient for them to add but it is interesting how it gets overlooked perhaps just because it is profitable to do so. I mostly cook with olive oil or Ghee but do use normal cooking oil (rapeseed oil) occasionally.
I'm doomed! I use herbs and spices with almost everything and with my predominatly pescatarian diet my heavy metals are probably going through the roof! I perhaps need to grow more herbs. I do use some fresh ones out of the garden but buy dried by the kilogram
For all those retired and on social security in the US. They are giving everyone an increase of 4.9% however i just saw that the cost of Medicare is rising from $148 to $170. Everyone knew this was going to happen.

In reality I think we all knew healthcare was going to rise in price it was inevitable after the pandemic. So I am really pleasantly surprised that my own bill will be going up only €3 per month.

Same here.. I love spices. Now I'm tempted to grow some of my most common ones on my own, although, it seems at least there's still a good bit of decent brands out there we don't have to worry about.
I finally have an appointment with a dermatologist next month to get some things checked out. My mom had some skin cancer removed this year, so I want to make sure I get looked at... I have one spot in particular so far that looks irregular and seems to be getting larger (only noticed it doing so this year), but going to have them all glanced over just in case. I looked at pictures online of dysplastic nevi, and it's possible I could have that... but who knows! Seems like it's hard to tell the difference between benign and cancerous stuff sometimes, as some will almost resemble malignancies. Might just need to chop it off to know for sure.

I would have it done.
When I trained I was told I would probably never see a cancerous skin condition. So far I have diagnosed, and had 4 confirmed.

Yeah, I'll do whatever is suggested if they think it does look truly suspicious or if they're not sure. Just to be on the safe side. Melanoma is no joke!

Never take a chance when it is so easy to have it checked out. So many people don't even consider the possibility of having skin cancer.
Yeah, it is one of the more common cancers in young people, and they are less likely to think they'd have it.
It's not common in the young here. Here the prevalence has rocketed since I was taught about it, hence my findings. But age is the main factor here.
Yeah, it's not more common in the young than the old overall because it is more common as you age, but it is one of the more common cancers in the young here. I think it's our top cancer overall.

With the sun being so strong here in Florida it is an issue you should be concerned with.
Yep, and most of my life was spent in FL lol where I am now is also hot and sunny a good bit.
I'm constantly checking my skin. I see so many people that have spots all over their legs and arms and some that have very dry cracked skin. It's not hard to take some precautions.

I mostly have spots on my arms with a few in random parts all over. Of course, the parts on my arms that are most exposed is where it all is....

Same with me. my arms get more sun than anything else.
