I made an appointment for the doc today ( to go wed morning) Ive had some odd sensations on my left side for a while now. Like pins and needles but only skin deep if you understand, on my thigh to the knee and on my upper arm shoulder to elbow, to the fingers occasionally.. Ive also started biting my tongue on the left when I speak, then last night a large nodule ( lymph gland ?) came up on the right side of my neck... Time to check it out me thinks...

That does sound a bit concerning.. hope everything checks out okay.
Maybe you need a dosage change for your thyroid meds??

I really hope they don't stop messing around with my thyroid medication again.. A doctor tried this a few years ago I ended up so exhausted I could barely move. The dose I'm on now usually allows me to live a fairly normal life keeps my weight stable my eye pressure good so I'd like it to stay that way .. To be honest I think it might be a progression in my fibromyalgia in which case there's not an awful lot they can do about it. But as it's a change that hasn't gone away I have to get it checked out.

I hope it may lead to an effective treatment. I have been offered painkillers or physiotherapy nothing else. My son was more or less branded a liar or lazy when he started getting symptoms at a very young age it took nearly 2 years to diagnose.
Yes, the podiatrist suggested not to change any exercise habit. Instead, place a cotton ball between the affected toes. If the callous growth doesn't return in the short term...good to go. If it does, he recommended the removal of a piece of bone from the toe. The doctor says it is a simple and standard practice but only necessary if the soreness returns frequently.

If you would like an alternative plan:
1. Ditch the cotton wool ball. Interdigital corns are difficult to predict, and really need to be assessed in real time. For instance, if it comes back and is painful in 4 weeks, then it is time to worry. Or it may take a year to return. In which case, much easier just to pay to have it removed.
If you keep the cotton wool there, and it doesn't come back, is it because it may never return, or because the cotton wool ball is there.
2. Never have surgery done, it often makes the matter worse, and if you must. Insist that the cut is made from the top, and not from beneath or the side. This is to prevent scar tissue forming in an area of stress.
3. Rather than have surgery, have the corn removed when it is painful, and ask for a silicone interdigital mould to minimise pressure. Or use a thin wedge of sponge.
4. Lastly, tell him to ignore any advice to pick up pencils with his toes. This will make his claw toes worse. If he wants any exercises. Tell him to pull his toes out straight once or twice a day.
So my GP says.. its a lymph node.. OK I get that but so large and so suddenly ? She thinks Ive come into contact with something? Shes a real miss Marple this one.
As for the tingeling she thinks a trapped nerve so Ive got an appointment with my physio for Monday if it doesnt help Im off to the neurologist for a CT scan.

Thanks for the toe advice, sounds sensible. I have an aversion to ugly feet. My husband's are borderline. They look better if he maintains his nails, he doesn't.

Oof... tell him you'll cut his feet off if he doesn't take better care of them ;p
Im off to the physio... The waiting list was a whole 4 days... My physio is actually on holiday and this one is just back from maternity leave so Im first on her list..

Four days here in less than a life or death situation would actually promote a heart attack. I hope things go well Cassie.
