There was a documentary call strange ways to die and there was one man who wanted to be the fittest man on the planet so he drank tons of carrot juice.. and it killed him..
I agree that a balance is essential , I hear these things, a glass of red wine per day, two square of dark chocolate or avoiding carbs is the best way to live longer.. I dont agree. I think a little of everything and everything in moderation is the correct way to ..
Plus is better to live 70 years of laughter than 100 years of misery. I remember a race jockey saying now he was retired he was no longer hungry and when asked what he meant he said that since the age of 14 when he started racing he had always been hungry but unable to eat because of weight limits for riders..
I just think that is a totally miserable way to live.
You are not wrong, but there is a balance to be found, and even doing without, can be mentally healthy for you. It is good for us to challenge ourselves in that way too.
I agree restraint is not a bad thing I have this rule, while mince pies are always available in the shops from about August I do not eat a mince pie until December. I don't eat lebkuchen until December. I restrain myself and I keep these things special. We have fat Saturday day6 the only day of the week that we eat so cold snack food I might make a hamburger or make a pizza. But only on a Saturday. Nothing wrong in rules nothing wrong in restraint.
But to deny yourself basic needs... no that's wrong
Disgusting but eaily avoided with good hygine and regular de-worming.
Interesting is the fact that there are about a dozen things that can be passed from dog to human most avoidable with good hygine, but there are thousands of illnesses and bugs that can spread human to human...
In fact you are much safer kissing a dog, hugging a dog, or even sleeping next to a dog than you are a human...

It's all gross! Just like that weird brain issue that we can get from cat feces... We'll never be safe... everything is out to give us a disease lol
Nasty. I try to avoid artificial sweeteners because they can interrupt the uptake of medications. They can also cause sugar cravings.
I think they might hurt my stomach and cause heart palpitations, but I don't have anything with it enough to know for certain.. I try to avoid it just in case lol
I have enough issues with overconsuming ordinary sugars so totally avoid replacements which will likely cause further problems. When you look at these foody issues it's often a case of jumping out of the frying pan and into the fire.
Several manufacturers use different recipes for the same product.. notably Heinz where products sold in the US are generally sweeter than the UK varient and the European varient is even less sweet and more spicy.

I went with my husband to visit a podiatrist. (My husband is an avid bicyclist and developed an ugly callous like thing between two toes, painful.) Surprisingly, it was easily removed and without any pain blocker.
I wasn't the patient but I was still surprised.
PS. White vinegar applied topically, cotton swab, a couple times a day eliminates "athlete's foot" infection. Works better than desiccant powders and gels, cheaper too.

Glad he got that removed.. I've seen some really nasty ones online lol and they sure can be painful!
He might need to start soaking his feet and gently scrubbing the skin off gently more regularly to help prevent them from getting so bad.
I hope it may lead to an effective treatment. I have been offered painkillers or physiotherapy nothing else. My son was more or less branded a liar or lazy when he started getting symptoms at a very young age it took nearly 2 years to diagnose.

My mom has it, and sometimes I wonder if I have it, but a lot of thyroid symptoms are really similar. It's nice if they can figure out how to treat this... because it might help them figure out how to also treat other autoimmune issues as well in the future.
