How come it has come to this? That people need self-care instructions. Something that should've been the status quo now something that has to be encouraged from the start. Numerous and pointless rhetoric concerning the avoidance of personal boundaries and personal responsibilities. For what? The pursuit of the dollar? Generations of potential have been wasted because of this crap and yet still, people buy into the sh*t. It's irritating.
Some people don't know how to relax or care for themselves even without work causing them to be less inclined to, so it's good to encourage it for whatever reason. I do agree it's a shame that societies have made it so people feel they have to always be working and can't take time for themselves. That's why I wanted this self-care thread to be around as a reminder for everyone to take care of themselves or to just give others ideas if they struggle with doing so
There is something very warm about sharing self care. It probably dates back to forever. I am thinking of things like monkeys cleaning each other. Sharing like that, is also a self care.
What is funny is that I can count the flats just in my head. 3 pairs of trainers, 2 pairs of ballet shoes, three pairs of sandals, one pair of toe-bar wedges, one pair of leather boots, two pairs of crocs, and one pair of wellies.
Oh, and two pairs of uggs.
I just checked. That's it. The official number. 15

That's probably more than me but I often forget as they are not all together. Some are located elsewhere for a reason, like my protective boots which are in the garage.
gonna be a few days of lots of self care as i have covid again.
That's tough but you can take time off for having Covid, right?
yes ma'am it's mandatory. i think it's 7-10 days. if i test negative on day 6 i think, i can return on day 7 and would have to wear an n95 mask the last 3 days of the isolation and sit separately from everyone.
having some of that nasty alka seltzer hot drink to help my congestion. gonna wash it down with some coffee and motrin. probably gonna game tonight. so boring.

Take care Mary, I wish I could send you a jar a citron tea I am drinking right now.
Trying to rest and keep fluids in me. I don't really feel so bad but my breathing is a little labored and I'm tired but not like last time. Last time I had Covid I slept so much I was worried I had something else wrong with me. LOL!

Missy, you need to stay away from alcohol when you are sick, okay, nothing caffeine either.
I haven't had any alcohol for a while now. I don't normally drink booze when sick. If you think I'm going without coffee you be crazy! The only time I don't drink coffee is if I got the flu and can't keep nothing down. I have hydration packets I put in water that are instant hydration. Been drinking those. I put them in my big 28 oz cup. Plus I keep taking catnaps throughout the day cuz I doze off while watching stuff on the pc.

I never drink alcohol AT ALL.
This is because I am on prescribed medication by my doctor. She advises I don't drink. And she's right. I don't enjoy alcohol anyway. And just because others are pressured to drink, does not mean I should succumb. Plus, when I was a kid my best friend had a mum with an alcohol problem, so even then I knew alcohol causes more problems than it solves.
This is a self care thread and there are days when I make myself an alcoholic drink as part of my self care. LMBO!
And just for the record...I have never had any problems because of booze. When I say I'm having a couple of mixed drinks...I'm talking a capful of Crown Royal in a 12 oz can of soda pop. Two of those are not enough to get drunk or become an alcoholic. Especially with no more often than what I drink. We're talking every 3 - 6 months maybe.

My mom has a small glass of wine that she sips a lot of nights to help her unwind after work... Moderation is part of the self-care lol
