Well, my guess is money. We pay for the water (and yeah, it is treated).. if we can just collect it for free outdoors, then why would we need to pay them? ;p
The other issue could maybe be people wanting to drink the water and maybe getting sick? Other than that, I wouldn't know why.
It looks like one of them already didn't make it. It became crunchy. The second one is half dead... so not sure why just half of it died? I hope someone didn't spray anything on my plants.. it is at a border with a neighbor.
We lost a lot of bushes next to our boundary fence. The owner isn't to blame, he is not that sort of person. We assume it is something his builder did when he was doing a driveway on his side of the boundary.
Fortunately, our buyer, has no idea of gardening..........
Oh no! It's always the worst when you have privacy hedges or trees that get ruined.. keeps happening to me over time for various reasons lol
I know it would not be the owner here either, but she does have yard people and some who spray strong chemicals.
I always preferred bananas from my mom's banana tree... or smaller bananas in general seem to taste better. Other than that I am not a huge fan of eating bananas by themselves.
I find the smell of them can be off putting, and often when I eat one, it is too ripe, or too firm. Sometimes, if I find one I like, it can leave a strange after taste.....

Sorry, but you did ask.
You don't have to convince me.. I'm not a banana lover lol I have similar experiences... I do wait for them to get slightly freckled before I eat them, as that is usually when they taste best... after that then I might bake with them instead.
Our crape myrtle is flowering more and more each day. It's growing really quickly... so quickly that it can't hold up the weight of its own flowers at times lol it is getting stronger, though.
One of our azaleas has a flower bud! I think I spotted a few other possible flower buds. I was not expecting any flowers from them until next year since we just planted them a few months back right after their main flowering... so that is a nice surprise.
The two dead ones are still dead I will replace them in the fall... the others still are holding up okay, so whatever is wrong seems to be isolated still to just the two.

It sounds like everything is growing well for you Heather. As far as the two that died, hey we all lose plants and need to replace them.
Yeah, I don't have things die on me too often at least.. but every now and then something does not make it. Considering how many plants we have planted in the last 3 years it really is not a lot that are dying, though.
Our juniper isn't doing too well either... it struggled from the beginning. We may replace it with another one from a place where we saw healthier ones after we had already planted the one we bought lol
Our tea olives are doing nice and our magnolia has grown a lot, too! We are thinking of planting another magnolia.
Thanks Heather, I wish I had some trees with branch spread out like these so that I can hang lantern lights on them.
Those are pretty
I drove by the neighborhood I like to buy the house at, these houses in the cul-de-sac all hang them on the trees, it's not christmas but the streets look so beautiful.
Now another azalea is starting to die. I have not watered them, as it has been raining every so often. They are all near each other so far, so it is making me wonder if some type of disease, fungus, or mold is in the soil in this area or something. When we replace them we are going to remove a lot of the dirt and put in fresh stuff again just in case I guess. Bummer!
Some of them are flowering and seem to be doing okay otherwise. One of them has all white flowers... one has some pink/purple and a mix of white and pink/purple. They are all being very random lol they don't really look entirely like what the pictures show for autumn twists, though, but oh well, at least they are flowering and not dying.. yet!

It is a never ending battle for you Heather. Certainly a lot of extra work...

You need an acid soil for azaleas?
Yeah, that is what we bought! We bought everything that mentioned azaleas specifically... I feel bad they are dying... I keep feeling apprehensive to even look anymore because I'm afraid they will all die now lol
