I did a few things in the garden / house this morning. I planted some courgette seeds in the propagator. The Basil seeds I planted there a few days back are moving on well now, with tiny seedlings, so may soon go into the hydroponics.
Next I decided to tidy up the living room window display. I have a poinsetta which died over the winter. It went. I also took some cuttings off a cactus which has got out of hand. A very spiky customer but not an opuntia, having solid spikes but not ichy tiny spines. With care I could hold the offshoots without getting stabbed. A little like how a fakir has been portrayed in the past lying on a bed of nails, although I have never done that lol. The offshoots will be left to callus over then potted on. I did sprinkle charcoal on the wound as soon as I cut them.
Our bluebells are close to peaking. A day, two at the most.
I only noticed on Friday that those around here seem at their best. If the weather is good tomorrow I will walk to a wood in which there are lots of wild ones.

Our area is known for bluebells. There is a wood not far from here, I have posted pics in the past of, and it is known locally as 'The bluebell wood'.
As mentioned in the thread about things bought recently.. We got a trail cam for the deck because something has been stealing our suet. We'll put a whole one out, and then it's gone overnight, and we sure as heck know it's not the birds because they will eat at them for weeks. So, we'll find out what it is. I'm thinking it's a possum because I saw one a few nights ago on the side of the house. If that's the case, then I might buy some possum food to leave out for them under the deck.. I found some on Amazon, so maybe I'll leave a bowl out for them lol

It is a raccoon. It was around for about 2 hours taking the suet lol
So, we may need to get a longer pole to hang the feeder on because it can just stands up to reach it from the deck. Or still a bowl of food for it to snack on elsewhere... can get some wildlife food that's for bunnies and squirrels or something. Little thief... xD
My tomatoes are still less than a foot tall There are a few buds for the flowers though. They are coming along better now, and the single tomatillo I am growing this year is out in the garden and has survived our recent frosts.

I must buy some tomatillo seeds. I am sure the so would enjoy growing something different.

Jen it does sound like your garden is coming along quite well.
I really have to put it back out and start taking pics again. There has been a lot of animal activity lately I am missing. Thanks for reminding me Cherry.

Reminding others aka nagging is one of my special skills.

I have just been out in the back garden, and these are my bluebells. You can see they continue into the woods. They are not quite peaking, tomorrow I reckon.

Succulents can be easier to care for if you have a black thumb :-) Just don't over-water them!
Your know, I plants some succulents and for the whole 12 months, they spread out about one foot
I was thinking a little that way too when I first saw your post. South African plants in general as I assume a similar climate. I thought further though and was unsure as I am not familiar enough with your weather to get specific. There are some beautiful flowering plants there though - southafrica.co.za/flowers-plants.html/
