I am at the stage where I am still collecting pictures for inspirations Cherry, so ladies, if you have any ideas of low maintenance, drought tolerant but colorful and nice plants and flowers, please help me. waiting to get city permits for the build-outs. The yard will kick in after everything is done. 5-6 months project easily. But the good thing is the new house is only 10 minutes from this house so we can go see it everyday.
It does sound very ambitious Annie. That certainly sounds like a huge undertaking.

Interviewing 8 contractors in 2 days Karen, this is probably the biggest renovation project I have ever done.

I always try to employ enthusiasts. I had a gardener that was enthusiastic, and I still have a mechanic like that. Though he may not last. He is developing a Rheumatoid condition of some type. The specialists are not sure what is going on.
It was always my ambition to employ an enthusiastic podiatrist, but I never really managed it..
I remember after I took over from my boss. I said to him that no-one ever came into 'our' office to check out the reference library since I took charge. He replied "In fourteen years, you were the only person who ever did!"
We have two little apple trees. This year I had almost written off our crop a late spring frost killed a lot of the blossem and summer storms knocked most of the young fruit off. But today I harvested what was left and made apple date and pecan chutney and was surprised to get 10 jars! That should keep us going for a while...
Oh, how much I miss my apple trees. Florida is not the place to grow them...
Are you allowed to grow oranges now? I remember we had an orange tree, and the town came and chopped it down because of some disease (that is what they claimed at least, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was an orange juice conspiracy!! lol). I loved the smell of the flowers....

Yes we can Heather. All the citrus trees that you can plant are all from nurseries here in Florida and safe.

I start to engage the landscaper, will share my inspiration pics soon.
I can't wait to see them Annie. I know it will be beautiful.
Karen, phase 1, I will eliminate every plants, only keep big trees. I counted today I have 8 big ones at least 20 ft tall and the trunk is about 25+ inches in diameter.

Annie, having trees like that will be nice giving you plenty of shade in the hot summers.

Stand well back, the garden tyrant is coming through...
I am guessing you have never read the book Supernature.
I will have to take pictures of them for you when I am there on Wednesday. I will keep all the big, tall trees, the little plants are dying and I need to make room for the inground spa, the mini waterfalls and a bocce ball court. I will also have a large concrete area for outdoor entertainment. I can't wait to see the architect plan.
