Oh yes, don't we all. Unfortunately, some of the supplies are out or harder to come by these days, so it might be more of a challenge to make exact recipes for some of the more complex dishes. Simple recipes would be great at this time, though!
I am lazy, so I do not melt butter and rub it on the toast... I just take a stick of butter and butter the pan I am using! Then I just cut a hole (or heart) shape out of bread and place the egg in the hole. Sometimes I add bacon pieces... but I usually sprinkle on some cheese.
For the piece of bread that was removed, I sprinkle cheese and garlic on it.
I watch it closely to be sure I'm not overcooking it because I enjoy a runny yolk, and it can start to cook quickly near the end. I wiggle the pan when it is getting closer to done and see how much jiggle the egg has.
It's simple but yummy!

I wing a lot of my recipes, too. I mix random things together all the time.. random sauces, random seasonings... No 2 chicken dishes I make will ever be exactly the same lol
Per Heather's request, here is my chicken macaroni soup:
Boil chicken pieces with bone in Take chicken out and shred when done Add Garlic and shallot to the broth Boil/Drain Macaroni Add broth to macaroni, garnish with cilantro and green onion, add shredded chicken, squeeze in some lime juice.

Thank you for sharing Annie. I can always use good soup recipes.
I don't follow the instructions exactly, and I always flavor it with whatever spices I feel like, but it's a good basic recipe.
Heather, I do too and I am going to give this one a go.
I did it a few nights ago, and it came out well. I did have to cook it longer than the recipe said, but my oven is old lol just check on it a lot and keep cooking if the rice is still covered in liquid ;p

I am going to try it out tomorrow night for supper. I have to shake up the menu a bit.

Karen, If you like soup, please let me know, I can send you more.
I don't mind it. I think it is okay in tea, but I don't have it too much in anything. Do you cook with it?
You know Heather, Thai people have lemongrass in just about everything. I went there in 2006 and I was amazed how flavorful the foods were, I have been using it in a lot of my dishes. Chicken curry is one, Beef and tomato soup is two, BBQ meat is three....
