I did enjoy easter as we had the kids over, a lovely meal and a good chat. I was really chuffed as I was given a belgium chocolate easter egg.
That I saved for Easter monday.
Truth is, that the best part was the anticipation of it. I rarely have chocolate as I am careful with my diet. So almost preened as I smelt the chocolate flavour and loved the sensation of the slightly 'grippy' sensation as I stroked the chocolate and broke a piece off. Then feeling it melt/break as I broke it in my mouth was marvellous.
It was a shame I was soo disappointed by the flavour.
It really was ok, nothing wrong with it, I am sure it tasted just as it should, but it definitely was not worth the carbs.
Rather disappointing tbh. I think I have lost my chocolate taste buds
I never tried pumper nickel bread before. Yesterday our shop was giving a loaf away free.....
It is really lovely, and in fact, utterly moorish. The entire loaf was gone in one sitting.
Years ago my mother used to love Boston baked beans and brown bread. One time when my dad was off at school via Southwestern Bell he came across some in a can. Mom nearly died. She loved it. So, every time he would go to school he would bring some home for her. I had some. It was ok. Kinda heavy. I think it was supposed to be.
Yesterday I made turkey burgers with gouda, mashed avocado, and lettuce. Used Udi's gluten free buns. The buns were much softer than they used to be when they first came out... it was almost like "real" bread!
Right now I'm snacking on salt and vinegar chips.. yumm!
Once in a while I get a yen for dill pickle chips.
