When we removed everything from the garage to have the floor and driveway redone, the extra room was amazing! I have an oversized 2-car garage. Now, we almost have room for a third. LOL
We still need to get the floor coated before we can get another work bench in there, as well as some roll-around cabinets. Still, we're never going back to all the junk we had in there before.

I just sold a mobile tool cabinet on ebay. I am sure it would have been a better price if I had called it a 'roll around'.

That's a great name.
We took the top off the roll-around toolbox and rolled the bottom part into the garden shed. It fits perfectly under the window. The top part still sits in the dining room. Once we get a workbench, either stationary or on wheels, we'll put the toolbox on top of that. Instead of open shelves, we will get cabinets on wheels that we can move around to suit our needs.
We used to have open shelves and a workbench, all built with front legs/supports, which is why we took it all down for the floor work. Everything had collected so much dust and dirt as well.

Only having a little garage means that it is crammed. It's amazing what can be fitted in but it does limit me. I do park the car in it too!
That makes 4 people I know that use te garage properly. My ex, my old boss, you and Crystal.
Everyone else, especially me, uses them as storage. My car has never been in my garage.
When we moved in I had the garage built. I remember days gone by when winter mornings were punctuated by the 'whir whir whu' with a driver trying to start their car with a dying battery and the screech of a slipping fan belt. It prompted me to have a garage, and have always had one, as it's so much better to just open the garage, climb into the car, start up, and drive out without having to wait 10 minutes clearing frost from the windows. If I had to start early then it would be with a good reduction in stress.
I have a 3 car garage. When we had the house built the design called for a 2 car garage but we requested them to expand it. The reason is simple, the third stall is a storage area because we have no basements here.

My last house had a car port. That I aways used. It was great, large, easy access, no door to open and shut, and that roof trapped just enough heat to prevent frozen windscreens.

My dad doesn't use his garage as a garage: his car sits outside. No: he uses his garage as a storage area. Hence why it is crammed. It isn't actually that messy, though: everything has its place.
My dad is actually a tidy person, so does his best.

I've just sorted my wardrobe: all with clean laundry. I keep my clothes organized. I also keep my linen closet sorted regularly. I keep on top of the washing up, too AND take out the rubbish & recycling regularly.
I am extremely organized and know what to keep and what needs to go.
My standard of organisation is suitable for my needs. I am not going to waste time over organising. Functionally, that is exactly the same as being disorganised.
