I finished From Farmworker to Astronaut (Jose Hernandez) last night.

Just received today (and the oldest is starting it first): The Dragon's Prophecy (Jonathan Cahn).

And I had a notification from Amazon about a new Sarah Ladd book, so I also set it to follow a few other Regency/historical novelists. Might see if there are any on Kindle Unlimited soon, though I do have an ebook just barely started...

Last night, I started The Almost Nearly Perfect People by Michael Booth (https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/18104725-the-almost-nearly-perfect-people). Not sure where I picked it up, but it's quite interesting so far!

Bought today: More Star Trek books! I grabbed the "autobiographies" of some of the captains of the shows. Missing from the bookstore shelf was Spock's book that I've sampled before, so I'll acquire that later...

I also found a few books from the Mr Men series, and tossed in the first Spy Cities book for the kids to try. (I'm hoping I'll enjoy it as well.)

The oldest teen was looking at The Fall of Numenor, and I swiped the best edition off the shelf. He can read it over and over, but it's most likely joining my Tolkien collection!

I finished reading this today. I thoroughly enjoyed the story and felt it has a brilliant beginning, middle and end. 10/10.

It is more about finding truth than convicting someone of murder. There is no swearing or over-the-top violence, which always puts me off a novel. No: it was executed perfectly.

It is definitely a serious novel and does take itself seriously. A book for adults, but young adults should be OK with this book too.

Im still reading K-Pax Im into the third book,, if ever there was a book/film adaptation crying out for a sequal film this was it, they just left half of it out.

I loved the film but now I just feel like I was robbed so thanks Cherry for the heads up I had no idea this was a trilogy.
But if anyone liked the film and hasnt read the book order it today.

One point; its described as a comedy but really it is just such a sad story for everyone involved and as ' Prot' points out for all humanity.

Ebook: Fighting for her Heart by Tara Grace Ericson. It's okay so far, just reading this multi-author series as each comes out. Will see how many I enjoy...

Also stacked in my room and partially read: Lost to Eternity (Star Trek novel) by Greg Cox, previously mentioned book about Scandinavia, and at least a few more titles that escape me right now! LOL

Yesterday I read "A Secret Garden Affair" by Erica James.

A truly brilliant read. It has charm, magic and is wonderfully delightful. I love the characters and storyline. It is stories within a story and feels enchanting yet all-too-real.

I'd advise you guys read this novel.

Yesterday I read "A Village Deception" by Rebecca Shaw. A truly clever and brilliant read. I liked the storyline and the characters. It has such charm and magic to it: it is a romance novel too. But there is a murder in it. Still, it was an enjoyable read and I feel it was written to an extremely high standard.

The translation is actually fairly good it's not too jarring or unnatural.

I finished reading this yesterday evening.

It is a book I LOVE. I like its storyline and characters. The writer knew what she was doing. I think "Disappearance Of A Scribe" was beautifully written and you can feel its love. 10/10, as it is a book I'd happily read again.

I read "Hello Mum" by Bernardine Evaristo and "A Sea Change" by Veronica Henry.

The first is about a lad caught in the crossfire of ganglife in London. He's 14 years old when he's stabbed by a rival gang. It's really a rough read. The ending is sad but not unexpected. A hard but necessary read.

The better read was "A Sea Change". It is about a woman that struggles to pay the rent and tries to steal money. Instead she is caught by an off-duty policeman and ends up winning a singing contest.

Both are a short read but excellent stories. They compare very differently, though.

I'm reading a Love on Sanctuary Shores novel. I wasn't interested in the main characters much at first, but I took a break to read two other books, and now I'm enjoying this one again. Funny how that can work!

I also have two Joan Aiken books to start, both related to Jane Austen novels. Gotta get back to the Jonathan Cahn book as well - so much to read!
