I read a lot of Shakespeare, starting in middle school. A Midsummer Night's Dream, Romeo and Juliet, Caeser (Et tu, Brute?), etc... plus many of his sonnets.
I enjoyed them all growing up, not so much for the other kids in my classes =p

I read Brave New World and 1984 in HS, too. I guess that the reason I love Kafka's is that a normal human goes to bed one night and awakes as a giant cockroach. And then his family treats him differently by sliding some food under his bedroom door, etc. It gets into psychology and social norms.
A lot of the classic books are fascinating, especially the ones that were almost like a glimpse into what the future has in store for us (Brave New World--eep!).
Both BNW and The Metamorphosis touch on psychology a bit :-)
I will read older books, and I'm amazed at how so much is still relatable centuries later.
Margaret Atwood is one of my favorite authours. She wrote this one trilogy which is THE BEST trilogy ever: Oryx and Crake, The Year of the Flood, and MADDADAM. You should read all three in that order. Amazing.

Operation Paperclip, Annie Jacobsen The author thought provokes the fact that the allies imported thousands of Nazi scientists and engineers to various countries for their advanced research techniques and war machine knowledge. Even their medical doctors were hard sought after. She wonders if the investment was all worth it, leaving the reader to their own conclusions. I read it in two nights. Just can't get over that Holocaust stuff.
I haven't been reading any books outside of what I am studying. Medical language is fun to read about, though lol maybe I'll start on a non-study book soon... I did buy some books a while back, but I didn't find the time for them yet.
I'm technically always reading, but usually it's informative articles online, which I do share some with you all :-)

I found it at a place here called "The Book Thing". You can take in books that you've read and swap them for other books. I was only 11 when it was released initially.
I'm reading Jimmy Carter's autobiography from 1998. Yes Cher, I do respect and admire him.
Carter was the first, and last, president to accuse Israel of "stomping all over" the Camp David Peace accord for which he and President of Egypt, Anwar Sadat, won a Nobel Peace Prize.
He is typically outspoken and not always politically correct.
As a president he was somewhat of a failure, but told it the way it is.
