I got the mid week shop yesterday. I then visited the shoe shop and bought a pair of trainers. I tried on Skechers and Pavers and found a pair of Pavers to be the most comfortable so bought them.
I want to go out a little bit since hubby is in the office today but the gardener's huge truck is right in the middle of the driveway and he is cleaning up in the backyard so I am leaving him alone for now.

Was the fit equal?
If you mean the pair, one was better than the other but reasonable. They will bed in. Between different pairs the fit was mostly there but others just didn't feel right. There was only one pair which felt too small though, even though nominally the same size.I find it's always a bit of a minefield but, from experience, know that I have to get it right. With my walking boots I took over half an hour to choose between two pairs and got the right one as the boots are probably the most comfortable footwear I have ever bought.
Having said that I have just put them on (I have not worn them since I bought them) and they both seem similar, and comfortable, although I am barefoot at the moment as I am still in pj's
I won't be wearing them with thick socks so that's not really an issue.

We're on the same page here.
My shoes/boots/trainers have to fit absolutely right. Even if there is slight pins and needles in my feet I won't buy the shoes: no matter what size it says on the shoe. There is no room for second best. Shoes must NEVER result in pins and needles.

Gonna trash the landline. Monthly bill was steadily increasing...15.9% in less than a year. I bought a VoIP service for an up-front cost of $99 and either only taxes and fees of about $8/month or a premier plan for an additional $10/month. We have a very stable internet connection, so I feel good about cutting that landline cord.
Methinks, they're shutting down their landline phone service, and that's the purpose behind the monthly rate hikes. When I selected the button to cancel my current service, they suggested I talk to the chatbot. The chatbot just posted a link to cancel my service...didn't even try to keep me as a customer. LOL

This is happening here too. At the moment my landline service is somewhat cheaper than going the broadband route and we don't tax the connection too heavily, just using the slower connection provided via the phone service. The bill is not increasing to any extent. The streaming TV works although some other downloads are lengthy but acceptable if taken in a timely manner.

It's been about 3 years since I ditched the landline and the TV. We now do everything via the internet or mobiles and I don't regret it the costs keep going up and who actually called us? no one... The children all use mobiles and our elderly relatives are passed away now.

I still have my landline: this is because it is needed for my Internet provider. I do also still watch TV. But I can see your point. Technology does mean things have drastically changed.

With online streaming services it means we no longer have to wait a week for the next episode of a series. This is good news for my husband who can barely remember what he had for breakfast this morning let alone wait a week for a storyline.

Weekly grocery shop today. Yay, food!
Recently, I bought some Star Trek tea cups (the ones Picard used in TNG) from Master Replicas. They're souvenirs, but I'll also use them (at least 2 from the set of 4).
I also ordered gifts for my parents' anniversary soon - 50 years!!
I ordered a playmat for the grandchildren from Amazon last week, as it was pointed out to me being there. A message came back that the delivery was to be on Wednesday. I thought yesterday which was the usual sort of time. No it is in a further two weeks as it is coming from China. I didn't see any indication of a long delivery time when I ordered. Perhaps it was such that I was more intently trying to avoid the ' subscribe to Prime' traps

I have given up with Amazon because of Prime. I find you can buy the same stuff at the same price from the same sellers on ebay.
We usually don't have to much of an issue with Amazon. Mostly everything we order we get the next day and sometimes the same day. We do have a huge distribution center near us. Only once have we had things delayed for an unacceptable amout of time and cancelled it.

I usually buy from ebay for similar reasons. Something which I have found though is that it is worth looking at the suppliers own website for prices. A number of times I have found that it is cheaper that way. I suppose they don't have to pay ebay fees so they give lower prices. Obviously they only usually give free postage on ebay but even when taking postage into account things can be noticeably cheaper.
