How about the rest of you?
My road tax was less and the insurance was similar but that was much earlier in the year. When I used to have business use I found it actually didn't change the price to any noticeable extent.
There are so many extras these days though as they chop them off the main policy and price seperately.
Today I just bought the main grocery shop although I did stock up on a couple of larger stores - a 2.5 litre tin of olive oil and a large bottle of fish sauce (750ml? - I use it in lots of dishes so keep a store) for instance.

We have three cars, manufactured in 2007, 2017 and 2022. Colorado levies an ownership (personal property) tax based on the value of the vehicle, which depreciates over ten years. The two newer cars cost over $1000 (each) for first-time registration, which included the one-time plate fee and a $30 donation to Rocky Mountain National Park.
After nine years (registration is in advance), one pays the minimum ownership tax of $3. Annual registration also includes a road and bridge fee (based on weight, I believe) and a Keep Colorado Wild pass (voluntary $29), which covers admission to any state park. We have elected to pay that on the two newer cars. The oldest car has Amateur Radio Call Sign plates that costs a bit more annually. For all this, we paid (from oldest to newest) $68.77, $259.52 and $561.24 for this year.
The latest six-month insurance premium for all three cars was $1868.64 for full coverage. Like Karen, we could have chosen cheaper policies, but opted for higher than legally minimum liability coverage.

My auto insurance for 2 cars is much higher at $1390 for 6 months. I could get it cheaper but I have very high coverage on both vehicles. We don't have a road tax as you do.
I also have the higher cover. The only thing I didn't get was the protected no claim bonus. My insurance is higher, as I use the car for work, not just driving to work.
Our other car has the same cover, but only for driving to work. It cannot be used for work. That costs £133.
Your insurance is exorbitant..... Just as well you don't pay road tax too.

Our current ink-jet printer has lost its mind, so I ordered a new Brother laser printer. This is only my 5th printer since 1996 and my first laser. All but one of my previous printers have been Canon, which I liked. I hated the HP. Hopefully, we'll have this one for a very long time.

Some years ago my printer died, and a friend sold me her used industrial printer for £5. It was intended as a temporary as it was a bit rough around the edges. It was so fast and efficient. I had it for a few years. Finally my daughter damaged it, so you had to hold the lid down to use it. I gave it to a friend who got another two years out of it lol.
After that I was hooked on industrial printers, as I found that a refurbished one was cheaper than a brand new non industrial one. The one I have now is about 9 years old. The cartridges cost £20, but they are huge, and last for ages.
It has got a bit finicky with printing onto cardboard, you have to feed it in one sheet at time, but on paper it is as good as ever.
We use Dell Computers and HP printers, I am not crazy about HP either but when I left my last job, I was able to keep all the office equipments originally assigned to me so there it is. My home office does not share the same equipment with my husband's home office so he is using an EPSON printer, furnished by his work.
I have an Epson laser printer which I got when it was being thrown out from work. A ruling came round departments such that everyone had to use the main network printer (cost cutting) so all the individual laser printers were outlawed.
I use it sparingly as the cartridges are quite expensive, although it is a very good printer.

Laughing at a printer losing its mind. Is that what happened to a previous HP printer I had that no longer printed cyan and couldn't scan it either? That was a weird problem for us! I've still stuck with HP printers, though.
I just bought new reading glasses online. When I was looking at the end of October, I had my search criteria a little too narrow. This time, I went less picky and found something! Just going with one pair this year rather than replacing two - I really like last year's frames and I wasn't convinced that the new prescription for distance was correct... It looked worse when I was shown at the end of the check-up, so I'll wait till next year and hopefully it'll be right! (I have to go every year to be sure I don't have another retinal tear.)
I was trying to print a nine-page PDF, double-sided. I sent one print job, and went to pick it up later. There was quite a lot of paper in the output tray! It printed two pages, then half of one, none of the next, then repeat...over and over. Once, it got to pages 5 and 6, but never farther. Power cycling the printer didn't fix it, either. I ended up having to send nine different one-page print jobs. The print heads were fine. It wasn't low on ink, either. So, yeah, it lost its mind.

Printer antics have driven me mad in the past. I found it was usually due to driver issues.

Indeed. I have spent furious hours with printers... Investigating, cleaning, uninstalling, installing, rebooting, restarting, updating drivers, checking fuses, unplugging, re-reading manuals, online forums, Yahoo answers, etc etc etc
I have even wondered if religion would help.
It's particularly awful, as you know there is nothing wrong with it. Then, it starts up again as if it had never been in the huff at all.

How frustrating, I don't think even my engineer husband can put up with something like that, you ladies have plenty of patience.

If we wanted just a printer, HP LaserJets have been office workhorses for decades. Unfortunately, we want a printer that scans and copies as well. Not only that, but hubby wants one with a platen large enough to place legal-size pages on it.
