I bought the mid week grocery top up yesterday. A very short list. I also went the "The Works" and bought a large undecorated wooden box which I intend to use for one of my projects.
I bought a new pair of shoes yesterday. Fairly ordinary as they are for general wear. I still need to get some trainers but they are less urgent now winter is coming.

Within normal pricing bands, I reckon Skechers are best.

Thank you. I have seen some in a shop in a garden centre I pass on my way to art. They sell Sketchers, which seem to be priced reasonably.

My daughter has a mortons neuroom ( now operated on) but she swears by Sketchers and has about 6 pairs in all sorts of styles and colours. They were the only shoes she could still walk in

Those are often very successful ops. Was it done through the sole of the foot, or through the top.

Through the top, with a light anesthetic. she went in at 7am and was home by 3pm. So far so good..

She was lucky to have found such a competent surgeon. Most go through the sole of the foot, and the scar tissue left can be almost as painful as the neuroma.
I bought a new pair of boots for John while he working down by the water. He always wears sandals and that doesn't offer much protection if he encounters any "critters".
I will head out to get a birthday gift for my MIL tomorrow. We will visit them in FL this weekend.
Annie, be aware that there is a big hurricane heading towards or near Florida. Should be out of here by the weekend but still check what is happening. Where are they?

I bought some merchandise from The Chosen this weekend. Free shipping (even to Canada!) because I'd been a virtual ChosenCon attendee. Sweet!
Also just re-ordered a math book for the kids and cancelled the one that has had delayed shipping (since the end of August, we've been waiting). Should have noticed the seller rating being lower before now, tsk tsk.
Next up: Car repairs. (Booooo.) Someone dinged my car and didn't fess up. Cowards, I say!

Thanks Karen, They are in Palm Coast, the Hammock Dunes community, will the storm head that way? We have to leave FL through Orlando for Raleigh on Wednesday.

They currently have a Tropical Storm watch there but are quite way from the track of the storm. Orlando has a Tropical Storm Warning and I am sure the airport is going to be affected starting early Thursday. By the time you are leaving there should be no problems. When do you plan to come in? They are on the Atlantic coast with the yellow watch showing. South of the 30N line in that yellow section. The site is busy and might be temporarily unavailable.

Karen, we will arrive on Saturday, it will take us 90 min to drive from MCO to their house. I still remember our flight last year was stuck in MCO for 2 hours then they flew us to Tampa and we were stuck there for another 4 hours. The worst thing was it was midnight by the time we finally left.
I've given in and bought to bread making machine. For over 10 years I've made my own bread but just recently I've been faced with the series of disasters I think it might be that my hands are more affected by my rheumatism than I thought and this is leading to me not needing the dough enough. So I'm leaving it to the mechanical devices, the first couple of attempts have been really good and I'm quite pleasantly surprised.

Annie, I would think everything will be fine at the airport by Saturday with the storm being on Thursday. I hope you have a wonderful trip.

I actually have two of them. One of them given to me, and I love them.
I got the mid week shop yesterday. I then visited the shoe shop and bought a pair of trainers. I tried on Skechers and Pavers and found a pair of Pavers to be the most comfortable so bought them.
