A couple of pairs of German duvet/pillow cover sets as well as new German down pillows. I also bought a holiday shirt and a couple of jeggings, one fleece-lined, for Mom.
I called in a the butcher's yesterday and bought a couple of sausage rolls and half a (large) pork pie. It was also a good time to enquire about putting in my Christmas order. That will mean another visit soon, and buying more sausage rolls and maybe a bit of stuffed chine

Hubby and I don't normally shop together, but we went to a store we haven't been to in a while, as they're the only ones who stock the 3-pound turkey roast we like. We bought two, along with all the fixings for a small Thanksgiving dinner...turkey, cranberries, green beans, sausage for dressing, etc. We'll prepare one roast next weekend and keep the other one frozen for a later date.
I was shocked at the total bill! I can't remember when I last spent that much at the Grocery store...for only three bags! Granted, we bought a lot of high-dollar items...still, I don't remember spending even that much at Sam's Club!

It's only recently I have seen people at the tills, getting their bill and asking more an item to be removed from their shopping to reduce a bill. Here, I'm not sure that it is as much the bill but how quickly and by how much items increase in price. With some things they hit with a 20% price rise whereas in past times it would just be a few pence at a time.

I bought slipper socks recently! Love 'em! When I'm taking a break and don't need the compression socks, the slipper ones are a delight!
I've also ordered a new rechargeable toothbrush, changing from Philips back to Oral B for the round head.
And something we didn't need to pay for... More school books! A small portion of the order was done in September, then the rest had to wait for November because of a mess-up somewhere along the line. I'm really pleased with some of the art and science books I had chosen based on cover and description.
I need to cut out ordering online until after Christmas. I always have one problem or another. Remembering last year it was my row with ebay and their refusal to acknowledge a problem, and the year before an order which went missing. This year it was not even December. I ordered some art things and when I received the order a porcelain palette was broken. I contacted the company and they sent a new one. I have eventually received the replacement intact but I have been following their tracking. This showed the packeage going from the company to the Post Office North West Hub, then to their Sheffield Centre (our local main depot so it should have been delivered Saturday or Monday at the latest), but then it was sent to Atherstone (down toward the south of the country), then it came back to Sheffield again before being delivered to me in Lincolnshire.
The parcel was well labelled so I am not too impressed with the post office. This all started before the main brunt of Black Friday and Christmas mail. I think it sensible to limit orders while I am on top
My new tv arrives today so we will set that up later but the stand we bought for the lanai and the old tv has been delayed and won't be here until next week. So that will delay the lanai work.
I haven't bought but planning to - anyone has tried or used clip on sunglasses? What's your verdict? is it heavy? Convenient/inconvenient? Reliable, etc.?

Until I finally bought prescription sunglasses I always used a quality pair of clip ons. The only issue I had is they made them a bit heavier but nothing that I didn't get used to quickly.

Ive never used them . I honestly dont like the way they look so I always used to have prescription sunglasses. Nowadays I have lenses that darken according to the light.

I did have some years ago but I don't think I used them much. I didn't find them heavy but the ones I got were a bit fiddly and not that practical if I was going in and out. For just lazing in the sun I preferred ordinary sunglasses. I don't wear my glasses all the time anyway.
Okay, thank you ladies. I will mostly use it when driving. My prescription sunglasses is still okay to wear when lazing in the sun so I still use it for that purpose.
I thought I'd ordered enough Christmas lights for the interior of our house, but I picked solar outdoor ones by mistake. I then put up our old sets and they almost managed to fit all of the area... So, I'm returning the wrong lights and getting just one set of new ones. Next year (or when a better deal comes along after Christmas?) I'll buy more of the new ones. (One reason to replace the old sets is that they were shorter sets, possibly from dollar stores. One old string doesn't go as far and isn't as bright as a new string.)
I've also ordered new printer paper and a travel hanukiah (Hanukah menorah). (Could have bought the regular kind, but the travel one has batteries or can plug in, and I liked that idea. We can decide as a family whether we want traditional candles next time.)
Just about time to order the youngest's birthday presents, so there'll be plenty of time for shipping before the start of February...
