Do not dare complain about that, for fear of me coming over and giving you a chinese burn!
Converting our price to dollars, and litres to gallons, we are paying $7.17 for one gallon.
To put that in real terms, as our costs taxes etc vary, I have used a common currency between usa and uk. Snickers bars. AFAIK you are paying 2 Snickers bars for a gallon, whereas we are paying 8.5 Snickers bars for that same gallon.
I got my mid week shop and also ordered some electronic components yesterday.
Are you building something?
More a bit of experimenting at this point. I have a few ideas and just like to have fun trying them out. I sometimes think much of it is liking the way experiments were done in school and college. When I lash things up it seems to create the atmosphere. I do actually have boxes of leads I have made up, and test jigs to plug things together. Maybe I could get a part time job as a school technician With their cutbacks though I would probably be paying them

Mad professor Jen.
A guy who was on the same floor as me when I was in student flats was like you. He trained to be a tv technician, "I am not a tv repairman." lol
He ended up being in charge of mini submarines on north sea oil rigs.

I wasn't complaining (never do), but rather wondering why gas is cheaper here (over $.20/gallon). They are what they are. I drive hybrids. If I ever tire of buying/pumping gas, I'll buy an EV.

It's all about taxation.
VAT is applied after fuel duty, so, for example, the pump price of a litre of petrol currently reflects the pre-tax price plus 52.95p for fuel duty plus 20 per cent VAT on the pre-tax price and a further 10.59p for VAT at 20 per cent on fuel duty.

It's funny where people end up some times. Just being in a certain place at a certain time
One of the things I bought was the latest version of the little microcontrollers that I use. It has a more powerful processor and higher clock speed so I have been wondering if it would be better for frequency measurement in the radio I will hopefully complete one day ( ). It turns out that it may not be ideal but I did find it interesting to find that the person, online, who seems the most knowledgeable with this device and frequency issues does appear to be female. I am not the only nerd
I have just ordered some more art supplies. Mainly to obtain a Christmas present that I intend to give but I did take the opportunity to get a few things for me

Heather, can we have an automatic nerd-to-english dictionary added, please?
I bought my main grocery shop this morning. The supermarket was having a 25% off clothing so I also bought two pairs of leggings and anothe pair of fleecy pajama bottoms.
I bought new winter boots today, for both me and the oldest. Good deals too!
I also grabbed a new Christmas wreath at the dollar store and some snowflake clingies for the windows. Looking forward to a bit of festive decor, plus we've got the tree to put up soon.

The tablet the teens use is no longer charging. We were using it last night and then the oldest noticed the problem. He managed to move their Sketchbook files over to the SD card with about 20 percent battery power left, then we did a factory reset this morning as part of our goodbye to that device. (It now goes to the bin of items the kids can disassemble! Otherwise, recycling!)
I've ordered the same model I bought refurbished for myself this year, and a different colour of case so we can tell the two apart! The teens can use Sketchbook on my device while we wait for the other to ship from Ontario. While I'd hoped to wait just a little longer (like maybe January or spring) it wasn't horrible timing and we did get four or five years out of that one device!
We are thinking of a bigger tv for our living room.
They are getting bigger and bigger.
We replaced our 32" with another 32". There is not really room for a larger one without major shuffling. There was not a great deal of choice when limiting to that size.
Do you remember when a 21" CRT set was the norm and a 26" set was perhaps the biggest readily available?

We are now living in a dolls house. To get the room layout I wanted the TV had to fit the small wall and 32inch was the ideal size.. I hope they dont phase that 'small ' size out or I will be stuffed.

I remember when we had a tv that was 35", the one we have now in the living room is 60 ". We are thinking of moving that one outside to the lanai and getting a 75" for the living room. I think the 120 " would be a bit to big. lol...
