The main problem with it is that it encourages and supports mediocrity.
It may also do the opposite, especially for those with anxiety or depression that can't motivate themselves to do much of anything.. it can help some to feel good enough to live life again and accomplish goals.
Even those in high-powered positions might perform even better because of stress reduction.
Although, if we're talking about pot heads who sit around and get high all day and do nothing else, then I can definitely see your point lol there will always be some of those, but overall, I wouldn't say cannabis itself is what encourages this behavior. It just gives the already lazy and unmotivated more of an excuse as to why they can't do anything. Some people don't know how to do anything in moderation, which can make it worse, but honestly, better them being lazy on cannabis than dead on another drug they are using too liberally.
:(i am replying to the bolded part): i think some people become really co-dependent on cannabis, and want the weed to do EVERYTHING for them, and there are people who get that way with other stuff to, and even with other people lol. some people just want the easy-way in life but, life isn't always easy. cannabis can help people have a clear-mind but, it can't think for anyone, cannabis can help motivate people but, it can't live for anyone. cannabis can help the body/mind in many ways but, moderation is the key

I can't do any drugs: my landlord would find out. The police would then smash down my front door and wrestle me in handcuffs. I'd be done for possession of an illegal substance and would lose my apartment. And after serving time I wouldn't find housing by my council. They don't house people with a criminal record.
Pretty good reasons to steer clear of the drug scene.

Just hope they don't come to raid next door and get the wrong address then

What is square to one person is very real and dangerous to another.
I wouldn't get away with drugs for long: my neighbours would find out. It is very difficult to conceal a drug habit in a one-bedroom apartment with dozens of neighbours a knock-on-the-door-away. Plus, how would I pay my rent if I were spending money on illegal drugs? I have not touched drugs so far in my life and plan to keep it that way.
We grew it in the garden one year. 5 plants per household is ok here.
It smelled delicious...
I dont smoke it though
I would legalise it all. People are getting their houses broken into and their stuff stolen for a £20 fix. The police can't stop it.
They did grow some on farms locally for drug trial use. I am not sure whether they still do or whether they had any trouble with people taking it. I never heard anything. In recent years opium poppies are more commonly grown on farms though.
In the US it is still illegal at the Federal but they are kind of letting the states determine what they want to do. Some states recreational use is allowed, some just medical and some don't allow it at all.

Nor as wealthy, he would have a 9-5 job, and be in middle management.
idk about that. i can totally see him being a stoned podcaster smokin his dope and throwin his opinions around like girls with their panties at a rock concert.

...and would he still be able to wave his hands about in that silly fashion?
It's quite a few years now since I knew anyone in any way associated. I could only say what I read in the news. My hydroponics are pretty well shut down for winter now so I do have equipment I could rent out

It shouldn't be too hard.
They suggest that as many as 7.5m people aged 16-59 in the United Kingdom have used cannabis at least once, and that between 1.5m and 2m take the drug at least once a month (cp Montgomery Q 559).
Caution, I am feral.
