I have spotted the first real problem about to appear. I have only one day's supply of cashews. I eat them every day. I will need to increase my peanut ration I suppose. Cashews are my favourites though.

I prefer cashews as well. I've been having a bit less lately, a half serving instead of a full one, and choosing another source of protein to go with them, seeing as how I have other options that are lower fat than cashews. I don't eat peanuts often as I prefer them with a bit of chocolate (and/or dried fruit). (Apparently I love peanut butter but not peanuts? LOL)

Brazil nuts are my next favourite, but very expensive.

I am the opposite. I hate peanut butter but like peanuts.

I am much the same, with peanuts. I also dislike almonds, though I eat them every day, but love most anything almond flavoured.

I always have cashews in the house, They are. my husbands and my favorite. I am out currently and will have to pick some up the next time I go to the market.

I don't care!
I have decided to split my one day supply into two. So, I have a few more tomorrow.
I am made of stern stuff. I can do without cashews for 3 weeks.

Are you 'dry roasted' or 'salted', jen?
I prefer dry roasted although do have salted at times. I don't eat a lot. I got a big bag to have over Christmas but have only eaten about a quarter. Almonds are probably my favourite nut but, there again, I am not keen on almond flavouring and am not keen on marzipan at all. When I was little, with my Christmas cake, I used to eat the icing and cake but leave the marzipan. I wasn't that keen on the icing either but love Christmas cake.
Perhaps what is worse though is that I bought two pairs of tights. They are fleece lined, which I wear in the winter as I still often wear shorter skirts (mid thigh). Last year I found none in the shops which I visit and have not bought them online so, finding a full rack, I needed to get them while they were there.

I tend to do that. Likewise if it's cheap, I will stockpile. I have about a dozen bag of granola stashed away. They were less than half price, and diet irn bru, I have three bottles as it often goes out of stock for weeks.
Only the grocery shopping. The bill was noticeably low as, although I am buying groceries, the nought bought thread has made me think a bit before I buy

Four things I have noticed:
My freezer is still 3/4 full of food, and swopping my cashew ration for an extra peanut ration has improved the flavour of my seed and nut spread.
I have also found that I tend to go for meat, before fish. My freezer now has mostly fish, or seafood in it.
Lastly, I am surprised how little effect it has had on me. I seem to do a lot more stockpiling than I thought. I suppose if stuff I buy is cheap, I will buy plenty of it. For instance, I must have a dozen bags of granola. They were bout half price.

I tend to be more rigid on what I have daily so I do tend to eat fish on certain days hence probably eat it more often. If I see meat cheap I buy it though and so my freezer has more meat than fish.
There are various stocks of food around the house though. It never usually gets to a dozen bags of things though although I did stock up on tinned sardines when they were cheaper as I knew they woukd go up. I must have had twenty or thirty. Now eaten though. Similarly with tinned tuna too. I also tend to buy in bigger sizes so have a 5Kg bag of sugar, for instance. It lasts quite a while but does take up space. Similarly with my spices, I tend to buy in large amounts once or twice a year rather than the little pots. I have bags of dries chillies which keep some time without much loss of flavour although the herbs need repenishing more often.
