It's funny how internal body clocks work. It happens with me all the time but not usually quite so pronounced as today:
I first woke at 05:00, within a minute or so - too early so I went back to sleep. I next woke at 05:30, within a minute - too early. I next woke at 06:00, to within a minute - too early. I next woke at 06:30, to within a minute - too early, sleep again. I next woke at about three minutes to seven - I got up.
Was my mind setting a timer or calculating the time or was I having an out of body experience and floating up to look at the clock? I do have to physically raise my head to see it as I cannot from where I lay.

Strange
Not strange at all.
We all have super powers, we just have to find them. Yours is sleeping and waking in thirty minute segments. You need to develop them. Keep at it!!!

It didn;t work this morning but I think I was really tired after yesterday. I did wake at 05:30 but went back to sleep and it was gone seven before I woke up again. I remember I was dreaming well though so was happier asleep

The early nights are helping me get up in the morning: I am sticking to this. I still have naps, but I am awake most of the day. I also don't feel as tired: going to sleep early has obviously benefited my body clock.
Sorry but six extra hours in one day is not normal.
Thats an entire working day. I'm just saying because it means you could never get a job which isnt normal for someone your age thats how much impact it has apart from all the health issues that were pointed out on other threads.
Unfortunately I ended up on the sofa today for four hours: not good. I just zonked out.
Never mind.
It seems like you have been doing better from your previous post. Maybe this was just a little set back. Try to get a good nights sleep and see what happens tomorrow.

Today I ended getting up at 12 in the afternoon. Still, I had a nice sleep with no regrets. I am looking forward to my sleep tonight too.
It's a good time to be getting into the swing of working hours Candy. So that it is not too much of a shock to the system when you start. I hope your system adapts well.
My daughter has been suffering extreame fatuige and at first doctors said hormones then CFS(chronic fatiuge) but something she said about falling asleep mid sentence or mid way through a task made one doctor perk up and she is now being tested for narcolepsy.
Meanwhile her job coach suggested she become a meals on wheels delivery person !

My fil was keen for me to go out with him in his lorry, just before I married his son. Another lorry driver we got talking to, told my fil he had epilepsy, but he couldn't tell the firm or they would lay him off, and the dvla would stop him getting another job.
People may not approve but I DO like my sleep: and always will.
I love my sleep, I often greet my bed as I lay down and say 'hello bed' or even ' I love you bed'.
No one is disapproving just that when you talk of 6 hour naps we worry. 6 hours naps on top of a full nights sleep indicate something is wrong and no one would want to ignore you and see you get sick.

Thank you, Cassie: I see your point. I agree that 6 hour naps isn't really normal after sleeping throughout the night as well. It IS excessive. But good news: since following a regular night-time routine, I have been waking up between 8am and 9:30am. Having a good night's sleep is stopping these excessive napping times. I also try to avoid getting out of bed at 6am: this messes up my body clock and makes me tired in the daytime.
And people who get out of bed at 4am: they're nuts. I know you're not suggesting I get out of bed at 4am but I have read about people who start their day very early. NO THANK YOU!

Oh my... The last few days have been hectic . Last night I slept from 22.30 straight through until 05.55.
But I dreamt that I was on some kind of spaceship and the captain said to the crew incl me, you have done your very best and as a reward I'm going to let you have two weeks stasis so that you can sleep and completely recover.
Im guessing that my body is telling me that Im still tired...

Not ideal but if I really cant sleep I like to slip out with Murphy and go for a walk. I love the feeling that Im alone in the world in summer you see the sun just starting to rise and in winter you get that fresh coldness of the day and often see the stars in all their glory.
