Too many to list. I'm not one who buys gadgets just for the sake of it. But there are things that make life easier such as the air fryer and the instant pot. Then there are all the gadgets that we have for the maintenance and repair about the house. Plus the security gadgets like cameras inside and out, gadgets that make life more comfortable and easy.
HaHa - I looked through your list Candy and realise I only have about half of those. I would say though that we do have others like two fridge freezer's and several computers (plus a good printer although it's seldom used, conserving paper). Even an old video player still setup lol.
It is amazing how technology makes our lives so much easier.
As the above video says: I love technology!
There are times when it is good to get away from it for a while though - at least for me
Agree with that. When we go on holiday we always rent something as simple as possible no radio, no TV, no internet. This did backfire slightly on our first holiday without the children, we were driving through France and had the car radio on when the hysterical French radio presenter started screaming about buildings and planes in New York it was 11 September 2001... We had to go and buy a radio so that we could hear the BBC world service and find out exactly what happened.

That happened to me in 1982. I was going past a tv shop in paris, and the russians shot down a passenger jet.
Forunately, we were staying with french people, and they told us what was what when we got back there.

I didn't get a Smart TV till this year, and only because the slightly older TV had poor sound and didn't seem compatible with the soundbar I already had. Now I'm enjoying the Roku apps, but didn't really need a TV connected to the Internet...
I do have a tablet and there's one for the kids, too. One laptop for me, and one provided by the provincial government for the boy with autism. I do like that my smartphone allows me to have a phone on me for emergencies, plus a camera when I'm out walking. Otherwise I like to ignore it when I'm not expecting a call or checking on email. LOL
I still have a VCR, but because there's a BluRay player, DVR from the cable provider, etc. there wasn't enough room to plug it in! It stays in a closet and I'll get it out if I ever need it! Used a little more often is a turntable/cassette combo. (I plan to use records and old tapes even more in the next year, just need a decent extension cord for where I've set the record player in my bedroom. The kids don't care for vinyl as much, so it's all mine!)
We got a smart tv, but we were too stupid for it, so we got a refund.
The quality of the picture wasn't as good as what we already had, and still have.
There is so much funtionality in TV's these days. Ours does have a satellite receiver / decoder as well as normal TV but we have never used it. I think most people probably only use a fraction of what is provided and would have to search for the manual for the rest. Many things even have the manual on the equipment now. I remember, on the BMW car I had on loan, the user manual could be accessed on the car screen.

I used to LOVE cassette tapes. I'd record albums onto them for myself and friends. I still have that same nostalgia today. Also: old technology may well be reinstated if the economy declines and people can't afford the more modern technology. Because it seems a LOT of people are going broke. Bills are higher, supermarket trips are higher: only the fortunate aren't affected.
Basically, you're all correct to keep hold of your old VHS players and cassette tapes: even old typewriters. You may all need those items in the case of economic disaster.

Funnily enough there was a fascinating discussion on radio 4 today on bootlegging, and hacking.
I was actually in the queue outside Hastings cinema waiting to see The Empire Strikes Back, when the tapes were stolen and bootlegged. That was why we had to wait an hour longer than was advertised.

It wasn't often Hastings was on the news.
Another 45 or so years and it will be 1000 of them for Hastings
I don't know why cassette tapes were phased out in the first place: they were perfectly good items. In fact, cassette tapes are better than CDs!
Sometimes old-skool is better.
They hiss all the way through. They are a bugger if they tangle. If they snap you have had it. If they go anywhere near a magnet, you have had it. If you don't play them or at least rewind them regularly, they go off. The info they came with was minimal due to the tiny case.

Is that enough?
That's true but even CD's apparently degrade over the years.

The thing about music collections is that a lot of people don't use them and leave them to gather dust. My sister - for instance - had a CD unit. But she never listened to any of those CDs, which I pointed out. So what was the point of having it? My sister never listens to the radio: she never listens to CDs either. She has zero interest in music. She doesn't even watch music videos on YouTube. Again, I pointed all this out.
I am the opposite: I always watch music videos on YouTube. I play the radio every evening when getting ready for bed and I always play CDs. So I use my CD unit.
Basically - if someone loves music - I'd advise a unit. But - if someone is like my sister - I wouldn't bother.

I like collecting music, but I do try to use my collection as well. My latest strategy for that was to grab 4 random CDs from the rack and those would go to the car (which just has radio and CD player, nothing else). Then I'll swap them out once I've listened to them at least a couple times each.
There's no help for the storage becoming too old to continue using, but you don't have to switch everything at once. I still have cassette tapes and vinyl as a smaller part of my collection. And I have a mix of DVDs and BluRay for my videos - I buy whatever is a better deal at the time...

Come to think of it, I still have cassette tapes, but no player. Most of them are mixed tapes I made from radio broadcasts. The only player I had was in the car I sold in 2017. I tried to test one, but I couldn't tell if it was the player or the tape. I didn't care enough to try another tape. (Note to self: Trash the tapes.)
I've been meaning to do this for a while...ever since I've gotten rid of all my ephemera...I have a few record albums (10-20) that I need to get rid of as well. There is a nearby record store that buys and sells vinyl. I doubt that the collection is worth anything. I've tried looking online, but the prices vary so much, and I don't know what is reasonable...meaning, I don't want to be holding onto something that is overpriced, especially if I need to be rid of them. (I know... I know... I haven't played them since the mid-80s, so why worry about that, now?) I'll probably end up giving the store all my records, since I don't have the heart to throw them out. I'll take advantage of my week off to take care of this.
Why did I hang on to these things when I obviously have no use for them? Stored out of sight, out of mind, I guess.
I don't listen to a lot of anything really but do have lots. They are mostly old things though such as my 78's, the odd one of which is dated between 1900 - 1920. I do have a record player that can play them (even this is 1960's). I also have old vinyl singles and LP's but seldom play them. Now, my current car does not have a CD player so the only music I occasionally buy are DVD's which I can see on the TV as well as listen to. For music I use the radio or YouTube.

The great thing about YouTube is that there is no clutter and piles of CDs to store. That is why I love digital music and digital in general. I don't even buy DVDs anymore.
