Just an enquiry has anyone got an air purifier? Do they really work I'm just thinking for my husband his asthma has progressed to COPD and I'm wondering if an air purifier would help with dust, dog hair, parrot fluff etc.

I may be wrong, but don't they adjust the ions in the air, rather than extract various dusts?

I used to have an ion generator that would attract the particles into the unit and they would stick to a few long metal strips. I had to clean them off about once a week if i remember correctly. I do know they have other styles that incorporate a HEPA filter using a fan to bring the air in to filter.

I've seen ones with hepa filters that claim to remove dust , dog dander etc.. but i do wonder..

I use a dehumidifier virtually every day. They are very important to use and really do clear the air.

It depends on the dehumidifier. The one I had had limited filtering which had to be cleaned regularly. It's main purpose was to remove moisture which otherwise would promote damp / mould etc. Those types do little with fine particles and localised dust or smoke / odours.

I have had a number of dehumidifiers, I do live in england, and none filtered anything but water out of the air.
Btw, I’m interested with air purifier too. With all the renovation dusts in the house, I consider buying.
I have a conventional outside clothes dryer but it rains a lot here , even in summer.
We bought an air purifier one from the makers of instant pot. It had very good reviews and it was powerful enough for our little living area. Weve only had it for a day so I cannot yet say if it works but all the information sounds impressive.

Air purifiers are worth their weight in gold. I used one - although my old one does not work and needs replacing - and it did wonders for clearing the air. Especially of smells that can take hold.

A worthwhile investment.
I hope so.. OH has COPD and now that we are living in a smaller house the dust and dander from our dogs and parrot do seem to irritate his lungs more. So if this can help its worth it. I must say the filters are pricey although they say it will only need changing every 6-8 months.
I have a rotary retractable clothesline. I love it. I only retract it if there are heavy rains and strong winds. I use a portable clothes rack at the deck in winter.

We have a conventional clothesline. It goes across the garden.
We have a conventional clothesline across the garden too. Now that there is little air pollution from smoke clothes dried outside seem a lot fresher than those dried indoors.

If you would like another..........
We didn't like the rotary, it's currently folded up waiting to go to the local charity shop.

Im doing ok with it and this one seems to work, I remember having one years ago and it seemed all it did was get the clothes wrapped round the pole ..
