I'm planning to have the Christmas craft supplies handy by next week, so the kids can make their own ornaments and such. Makes for simple gifts to give each other. I should get them to decorate paper lunch bags and use those as gift bags, too.

It is my own painting of the cuddly dog I have which is the dog from the film. It came with a white chocolate Easter egg (

) which I got for Christmas a few years back from someone who new I would like it.

My mum was saying how she hadnt been able to find any nice ornament for Christmas this year ..

I have just arranged to send a planter made from natural fibre to her, its in the form of a robin and has a peace lily and some ivy in it.

I hope she likes it.

Last year, I didn't put up a tree or decorate for Christmas, since I was dealing with my dad/s issues surrounding his COVID diagnosis and move into an assisted living facility.

Last night, I erected and adjusted the tree. Tonight, I'll decorate it. I'll finally get to use the decorations I bought last year.

I only have a little one with optical fibre lighting so it's only a case of erecting it and plugging in.

We put up our tree on our weekend together in November. Love an excuse to decorate early! Garland went up a couple weeks later, mostly on our bookshelves upstairs. I would have more if the boys were doing most of the physical work for it.

Tomorrow I'm in the kitchen two loaves of bread and another batch of mince pies. The next weekend it's the time for cakes the people I know don't like very dark Christmas cakes, they like a light fruit cake, so baking one week in advance is quite enough.
Apart from myself there's one for my daughter there's one for the old Frenchman and one for my German lady.
Then I also make cupcake versions of Christmas cake with a little fondant star on the top of each one. I shall make about 30 of those.
