In the name of religion?

I am also against religion being the reason for anything violent.

For many years I have had the thought that religion could be a beautiful thing if it brought people together, but many times all it does is separate people.

I wish people were more accepting and tolerant. I also wish people were more compassionate...

I also believe in God. If there is no God, why do artists have so much soul?

It is so silly when you think of it.

"You don't believe what I believe so I must kill you!!!"

But then when you look at their beliefs, the essence is the same. Every religion believes we have some form of a soul. Christians, Muslims and Jews all follow the same god and that soul either goes to heaven or hell. Buddhists and Hindus still believe we have a soul because we are re-incarnated based on our actions in our life.

I mean, it's the same message: Be a good person and you will be rewarded, be a bad person and you will be punished. I mean, even atheism has the same sort of morals, which is to be a good person because this life is all you have!

But it seems like we all argue about how we get to that conclusion.

The ones who feel they must hurt others to get their message across are not good people and are not practicing the spirit of their religion, no matter which one it is.

I might find it easier to believe in god if there were no religions.

I have been thinking about that Jordanian pilot all day.

Like Putin? No. He is popular in Russia I hear. Sad, but understandable.

I hope the Jordanians, Saudi's, and Isreal for a coalition to defeat the ISIS barbarians. If they don't, who will? This Islamic death cult must be stopped.

PS. It is sad the US President misunderstands the First Ammendment and freedom of speech.

When people try to shove religion at me I will kindly point out that atheists dont go door to door begging you to give up your belief, they dont hold weekly meetings to re-enforce the brainwashing doctrine, they dont kill people for believing, they dont persecute people for holding a faith.
All they ask is that you allow them to hold their belief and they will let you hold yours..
Maybe if religon took a lesson from atheists the world might be a little more peaceful..


If you are religious then I say this ..Hold your belief true and close to your heart , have faith in your God that he will love and protect you. He and He alone will sit in judgement at the appointed time that choice is his, not yours. Spread love and forgiveness as is his teaching, not hate and descruction.
In breaking his laws you break his trust and show your faith to be that of lip service.

A man of God (not naming the church) Turned up at mums door shortly after my brother died.. On hearing J wasnt part of the church he promptly informed my grieveing mother that her son would unfortunetly be burning in hell because she had failed to dip a bit of water on his head!

Exactly! Heather, we agree on other issues; not just weed. I harken back to what John Lennon was singing about in "Imagine".

If only we could all stand together against terrorists, instead people are misdirecting their anger and hatred toward the wrong people. Grouping innocent people with terrorists is senseless...

Yeah, sometimes true. A lot of reasonable people are also on the more peaceful side, which can sometimes not get you noticed.... we unite silently... lol

The unreasonable ones already have a hate group made in like 30 seconds after something big happens.. lol not entirely serious ;-)

TBH I just cannot get past that he hit his wife, and for me that negates most any message that his songs may have intended for us.

I don’t know but maybe Christians do engage in “hate speech” on some websites. But when a religious sect is able to field 23 fully grown Muslim men to simultaneously behead 23 Christians on camera, I think such actions have gone well beyond hate speech. I know of no other religion outside of this Islamic sect that condones and glorifies such atrocities.

I think it high time Liberals stop helping those who want to kill them. Jews should stop giving money to Obama who appears to prefer the Muslim Brotherhood to Al-Sisi of Egypt and Netanyahu in Israel.
