I took a nap after breakfast. Hadn't slept well for a couple days and it caught up with me! Once I did get my day going, I made chocolate chip muffins, took books back to the library, and got in a walk at the park. Loved being out in nature! ☀️🐦🌲
Can I visit you in Florida, kjay?! I'd love to see where you live! I love nature/wildlife/animals: you name it. Because those alligators are incredible. You don't get those in the British Midlands!
I have been busy today, wandering around town and eating an Indian takeaway for dinner.
I am home now and am on the computer. I shall be busy on Sunday, too: I've got to do loads of cooking. But it is a way to spend time with family.
I have two mucky pups...So its bath time... One down one to go I did George first hes a beagle and beagles are not known for their love of water but he did like the hairdryer on low afterwards... Now hes all cute and sweet smelling ( until his next walk) I will do Murphy after lunch he takes a lot longer to dry..
I also got some dental gel.. No brush needed just smeer it on with the applicator and the gel does the rest... great now will someone tell the dogs it isnt cyanide? It wont kill them it isnt radioactive and they can trust me..Becuase the way they reacted anyone would think it was all of the above and worse.
That reminds me. my mum used to give her dog breath mints.

Benny loved mints and I had to buy the old fashioned kind ( no xylitol its toxic) Today I put the gel on their toothbrushes and that worked a lot better although George still wasnt keen!

Ours has a dry spot on her nose. If it is left it cracks, and she doesn't like the vaseline we have to rub in.

ooow poor thing sounds like my feet lol... George gets dry edges to his ears we use a doggy moisturiser for him and that helps... ( yes I know they are spoilt rotten)
Annie, sometimes they come out of the water into by backyard but not to often. The closet one came was a few years ago when one was sunning himself ay the doorway to my lanai.

You know my first reaction is OMG... then I remind myself t was us who went out early to try to spot the wolf in the woods.... We would most likely find it thrilling...( we are crazy like that)

As far as cars go, it's larger than a Camry. My husband and father are over 6' tall and need the legroom and headroom. As far as vehicles go, it's no match for many of the SUVs and trucks seen around here. I call the very large ones "Urban Assault Vehicles."
The sign says "Compact Cars Only." There were plenty of spaces on the opposite side of the aisle, from where I parked and snapped the pic. Reading and following directions/rules are not our strong suits here.
Of course, this truck is a one-off, which is why I have a picture of it. It was taken in front of my old office building. Still, you can see there's a Jeep and an SUV in the picture as well.

I am guessing that people laugh at ford fiestas there........

No, I don't recall people making fun of those. If anything, people make fun of those guys in big pickup trucks with the large wheels who drive aggressively...they're "overcompensating." Years ago, I used to say that about guys in expensive sports cars..."Now there's a $100,000 penis!" I see those as well, but not as often as before.
I plan on driving this one until it (or I) die(s). If, for some reason, it gets totaled in a wreck or a hail storm, I'll look into a Tesla or Lucid.
We have far more dangerous beasts than all those alligators, not ten yards from our front door. Often they come in packs too.............
Most of them are cars, but we get vans and lorries too.
The notorious 'white van man!'. I remember onetime driving through the city centre of Lincoln UK to work and being frozen at the sight of two white vans, with Irish plates, literally racing each other through the rush hour traffic in a manner similar to what you see on a Bond movie. I was amazed that they didn't hit anything and dismayed that there was no police presence. It really was something that you would need to see to believe.

I used to have a white van. It was great for town driving. It's not well known, but taxis, buses, lorries and vans let each other out all the time. I actually still favour such vehicles when I am driving my car in town. I figure they are working and need to get on. The rest I don't know about....

I spent a good 5 hours or more in the kitchen. I helped my sister prepare a beef casserole with roast potatoes. I also did the majority of the washing up. We had dessert - raspberry trifle - and a drink. [An alcohol-free cider for me, though!] I was later driven home and am now on the computer.
A good day!

Not an eventful day, mum missed our Skype call again , she was fast asleep. I made the bread and cooked beef stew for dinner today. But this afternoon was quite relaxing, we watch TV together and I put last month's photos into to the album. I make photo albums a bit like scrapbooks they tell a story of where we've been and what we've been doing rather than just being photos of special events with dates and times. That way if OH gets to a stage where he can't use the computer and needs reminders of where we've been or what we've been doing those 'paper' hard copies are on hand.

The Avalon is a notch up from the Camry, I believe.
We were woken up at 5,15 am by Basil the parrot in a blind panic. We ran downstairs and there were feathers everywhere he was in the top part of his cage clinging to the ceiling.
Something upset him but we have no idea what and the dogs didnt alert to anyone outside so Im baffeled. OH stayed downstairs and I went back to bed for a little while but we decided to just walk the dogs even earlier than normal.
Just before 7am we were at the common and walking by torchlight, I heard a dog bark in the distance and I could see a little red light so I knew someone was there walking a dog. As we walked through the woods I saw a faint outline of a shaggy creature coming towards us and assuming it was the dog we heard barking I lowered the torch and greeted it in my normal upbeat happy voice... My dogs reacted very excitedly and I lifted my torch slightly to look and was greeted by a ram! It was calm and unharmed but it left the path and wandered off between the trees ( very proud of my boys they didnt bark or growl) .. I called the animal ambulance who told me they dont deal with livestock phone the police...So there I am in the dark with OH two dogs pitch dark and ram wandering about trying to phone the police. Where was this she asked and I had to think of the name of nearest road which is a single lane to the farm..Then she asked 'did you get...'
What ? ,,a description I said saracasticly, yes white, shaggy, woolly, with horns, it was a RAM !.
Oh yes of course I'll send a patrol to look she said.. Honestly did she think I was going to ask for its name and adress?

No wonder your parrot was scared! Rams can be very frightening to birds.
Did the police arrive in the end to take control of the ram? I also hope your parrot is OK now. Basil must've been terrified, with all those feathers in his cage.

The ram wasnt here at the house...
I think a cat or a pinemartin might have got into the garden we will check the security camera to see if we can spot anything.
As far as I know the police have gone to find the ram. We didnt go after it in case the dogs scared it.
Basil is calmer now but he has a small abrasion to his head as well as a loss of some very major feathers.
I don't know about rams but sheep occasionally get out of the fields here. I remember telling the shepherd about the lambs which were getting under the fence from a field and eating the lusher grass by a farm road. When I approached they just went back through to there mothers anyway. The shepherd was not too concerned and it was not near any public road but was where people often walk their dogs.

I always worry about loose livestock.
I remember one night when I lived in the village walking the dog down the lane to our house when he started to growl. It was really misty and as we passed the opening to a field I saw the outline of a bull.. I didnt think much of it but the dog kept growling and it was only as I got nearer to my house I heard a noise behind me and realised the bull was loose and following us down the lane!
