I normally sent the interviewer(s) my list of questions two days in advance because I would like them to be prepared. CA laws does not allow too many personal questions and my credentials are on the resume so they spent most their time answering my questions anyway, of course I will drill more into it if I need to. I have ten references so I also send the 10 reference letters as well as the farewell announcement from the president's office which listed all of my responsibilities and accomplishments so I provided them the evidence of what I claimed on my resume anyway.
UK laws are not big on personal questions. The only way you can get personal is if the person has volunteered the information. The only one that springs to mind is the guy who mentioned his conviction for arson on his application form. That was a surprise to say the least.
The boss I had when I was deputy manager, was different. He once declined a perfectly good applicant as it said under 'hobbies' that he was a war gamer.
I must say your application technique is inimitable, and you are surely providing close to perfect due diligence for them.
Yesterday I did get out across the fields. They are drying out nicely although it was still a bit swampy in places. At one point a came across an excuvator digging out the dyke beside the path. It was completely blocking the footpath, except for a narrow gap but the bucket was swinging back and forth over it as it cleared the mud. As I got closer and stopped, wondering how I could attract the driver's attention a small terrier barked at me from an open window. That warned the driver who then let me past. A good arrangement and the dog gets time out with his owner

Thanks Cherry, the questions everyone asks me all the time are : why am I leaving my current position? and, how do I manage my superior?

I used to enjoy interviews, and interviewing. I do miss them, but only a little.

I hated interviews although I did find the different techniques and format of them interesting. I suppose the most interesting were those for an advanced techinical position. They were often composed of several parts which included practical challenges, technical and personal discussion, as well as a tour around.
When presented with interviewing though I did find that I quickly came to enjoy it. That said, my side of things were always the technical aspects rather than personal.

I gave my apartment a clean. I got so hot and sweaty I had to have a cold shower. It was a good job I didn't shower before doing the cleaning! I've cooled down now and my hair doesn't feel all hot and sweaty.
Hard work, its 9.30 pm we have been on the go since 5.45 and we havent even stopped for food ( except breakfast)..but the dam wall is in . Tomorrow we back fill it.
I did lots of little things yesterday, both in the garden and around the house. One of those days you think you have done nothing but in fact done a lot.

I was talking with Jen recently about her paintings and artwork in general (can't remember which thread it was in though), and I happened to mention that I used to draw when I was younger.
Just pencil artwork of portraits and horses mainly, but that I hadn't done anything recently.
Anyway, as a throwaway remark I said I should maybe try to reproduce Heather's Avatar.
So today, I finished a rather 'rusty' version.
I downloaded her Avatar to give me something to work from. I could never draw brilliantly from memory, but looking at a subject and drawing from 'real life' is much easier (for me at least.)
I told Jen I would post it on the Forum if I was happy with the result - so I have put the link below....
Please Heather, I hope you don't mind me taking the liberty of doing this, and I hope I have done it justice for you. If not, I will hang my head in shame and promise not to do it again

My day yesterday was quite the opposite.
Today has been some hard graft cleaning and tidying
We finished building the retaining wall on our Embankment this morning and the next door neighbors want all of the gravel out of their garden, so I shoveled about two ton of gravel this morning and we wheel-barrowed it round and into the space behind the retaining wall.
Our back garden looks like a World War 1 battle zone but the tide is turning, we are finishing the repair works and we can now start to think about the rebuilding.

I went food shopping with my dad. I also popped into my local library, where the lovely librarian chose three large-print novels for me. She had also read "Dead in Winter" and agreed with me as to how good it is. So she looked for three other novels by the same author. I am very much looking forward to reading them!
I had lunch with my dad today and we watched television together. Later on he drove me home and here I am!

I look in my crystal ball...... You are going to sleep well, but may be reluctant to get up in the morning.

I used to draw many years ago: I use that artwork in my graphic designs today. I LOVE graphic design: rather than drawing and painting.
I've always been artistic and creative. I love creating visual art with graphics. I have done so with all my Lulu.com publications. And those books have turned out really, really well.

Looks good! Whatever inspires you to be creative, go for it.
BTW, I didn't create my avatar; I find random artwork when browsing the internet and use them as avatars
P.S. For anyone who wants to share their art, we have a thread for that I just reopened If you want to keep anything just amongst us members, then use the members only area for sharing.

I've been online all morning. I also have been keeping on top of the laundry.
I went out for a meal with my family last night: my brother travelled from London to see my dad, sister and myself yesterday. I had an indulgent beef burger with chips for our meal out. And the food was delicious. My meal did cost £15 though!
Anyhow, I have also drunk my cafetiere coffee this morning and am listening to the radio.
