We settled on Star Trek: Voyager today. Found a good strategy for picking an episode with ages 8-14 to consider - we load up the episode guide on IMDB and then look through the episode summaries until we find one that interests us. Otherwise, the boys would get bored of the show if they watched sequentially as I would on my own...
We saw an episode where there's a transporter accident mixed with a holodeck malfunction, and the doctor helps save the day. Thumbs up from me! (I love the EMH, and Robert Picardo himself seems very cool!)
I watched an old Poirot on the player last night. The Blue Train. I have gone to these as I didn't get on with ITV's current offering - Karen Pirie. Has anyone else watched it?
Personally I don't like series dramas, much preferring a complete story in two hours. I get frustrated and feel controlled when having to work to see a series in order. It doesn't fit with my lifestyle.

Ive just finished the Val McDermid book about Karen Pirie and her cold cases.. The books are good.

I have thought about the book. My lack of enthusiasm of the TV program won't affect my desire to give it a read.
Often I find them far better than the programs as I think you put your own visualisation of the characters. I am reading a Chief Inspector Banks (Peter Robinson) novel at the moment. It seems better than the TV but, being fairly local (Yorkshire) I know the geography which ups interest a bit.

I found this with the Ian Rankin inspector Rebus books, mich nicer than the tv , but its not always the case I love watching Morse but the books .. I found Colin Dexter dry and emotionless.

PBS apparently has all of Broadchurch, since my last recording was the start of Season 3. Not sure if I'll want to continue, though it is interesting to see what the characters are doing after the mystery of Season 1 was finally solved and covered thoroughly.
Rings of Power finishes this week. I wasn't very interested by the battle scenes a couple episodes ago, but the volcano was super cool! (Potential vulcanologist here? LOL) I think I might want to read the books or watch the extended editions of the movies once the show is on break.
And there are now about two weeks left until Star Trek: Prodigy returns! So fun to watch with my kids.

I really can't fully recommend the NETFLIX offering, "The Minimalists". Fact is, I only watched maybe 10-minutes. But it is thought-provoking to note, however, that as home delivery becomes more convenient and FAST, consumers are more likely to succumb to snap decision purchasing.
I know I have too much stuff. It is too late for me, save yourselves!

So after a full (short) season of Rings of Power, I'd say it's pretty good. Makes me want to read the books and watch the movies for more, and I can't argue with that! I do have to say that all the battle stuff wasn't as interesting as a volcano erupting! Yep, I'm the natural disaster gal, and it shows...
I watched a documentary from '97 last night about the family and hometown behind the show The Waltons. Now I'm gonna try the first season.

I like watching "Walker, Texas Ranger", "Forensic Detectives" and "Murder By The Sea". I am hugely into crime documentaries. CBS Reality is my favourite TV channel.

I watch "Forensic Detectives" and "Murder by the Sea" quite often. Particularly with "Forensic Detectives", I think I may have seen most of them as they are almost always ones that I have seen when I put them on.

NETFLIX has a new series “Ancient Apocalypse”. The series is led by Graham Hancock.
In the scientific community, Hancock doesn’t have a sterling reputation, I mean he has appeared on “Ancient Aliens” and such. But this series is provocative I think and more plausible than visiting extra-terrestrials. If nothing else, the series is professionally photographed. So NUTS to his detractors.
PS. Hancock doesn’t call himself a scientist, just an investigative journalist if that matters to you.
PPS. I pronounce the word “controversy” as CON-tro-ver-sy and not con-TROV-er-sy. Listen for that line.
I ended up with a Roku TV when I needed to replace my last TV, whose sound was going. I have the NASA app added on the TV, so I'm watching NASA TV tonight. We sometimes remember to have it on during the day to see what view there is from the ISS.

I think the no oil mob missed a trick they could have glued themselves to the side of the rocket.. made a brilliant point and given us all a little laugh in the process
