Yes, I've watched the "Queens Gambit" several times. Fabulous. Her wardrobe is indeed worth the watch but also the sound track. All the characters are well developed plot wise too. It is fiction but I didn't care.

Hobby related…
Some cars are collectable. Age, rarity, styling (beauty), and uniqueness contribute to collectability. I suppose a step change in technology may also apply.
So, will electric cars be collectable? I can visualize someone lifting the hood to see the motor, but not so much to see the battery.

"Lou", a bit too far fetched.
I found "Fargo" too depressing. Well acted but depressing.
Hollywood has apparently had its worst year profit wise in twenty five years. I suppose theater audiences will rebound but it will take more than comic book super heros to make that happen.

So many strange characters on Fargo, and they are based heavily on fact, apparently.

Star Trek day for me! Every Thursday usually is, since there's often a new show. I think there are at least three more weeks of new Lower Decks and then Prodigy will be back for the whole family. If I want more Trek, I'm still on Season 2 of Enterprise and also have Season 2 of Picard arriving soon.

Somebody here got me thinking about the entertainment industry and some of the "flops" I've tuned into. Anyway...
There is a saying; “go woke, go broke”. In the entertainment industry the saying appears to be true. Movies with “woke messaging” turn out to be propaganda and dull.
Now propaganda has its place, it can work. But not so much as entertainment.
Movies and such whose principle purpose is messaging are dull for a reason. Character development isn’t possible. The “bad guys” are obvious and cannot change, the “good guys” are obvious and likewise are stagnant. It’s all too predictable.
Who wants to watch movies in which the “bad” stay bad and the “perfect” grows ever more “perfecter”?

I think you will need to point to a woke film to justify such 'out there' assertions.
We tried out some show.. Death by magic maybe? One episode, and we stopped.. it was just too over-the-top fake.. Like scene splicing magic instead of actual tricks... and it seems most are just actors anyway lol I'm about to talk about the lame scenes from the show below, so if you plan to watch, then do not read.. but if you want to know just how bad it was... then continue!
{Spoiler Alert!}I mean... he made someone pick an animal figurine, and they picked a toad, he just knew they would.. and then he made it turn into a real frog... Give me a break. And another... he made people walk a large stretch of beach and stop somewhere, and that spot just happened to have a treasure he buried with the guy's watch in it... and then the final scene with him being in a chained box with a straight jacket on... and it gets hit by a train.. and he ends up on the back of the train LOL it was so lame
Aside from the above... we started on Trailer Park Boys...
We finished Wu Assassin and the movie that went with it. It was fun.

Quantum leap. The new series , without Sam Beckett.. Anyone remember the original?
Well we watched the first of the new one last night and I have to say it wasnt bad.. Same format different people.
Bad Sisters...
Who killed Jean Paul.? I tell you after a couple of episodes I wanted to, you totally sympathise with the sisters for wanting to get rid of their nasty narcistic brother in law who uses coercive control to keep their sister ( his wife) totally crushed...
If you can cope with the Irish accents ( or have subtitles) its worth it .. Funny and tragic
I've seen some episodes because my mom used to watch it... we're going to watch it eventually. I thought it was over, but apparently it's still going now after a long break lol

I always liked the original series.. my SO are going to watch it all over again because we've been seeing some on TV at random, and it's making us nostalgic lol and then maybe one day make it to that newer version.

I've seen a lot of shows where people start off as bad and become good.... and good people who make some serious mistakes that could make someone view them poorly. People like redemption stories, but they are not all going to be like that either... so of course some will stay with bad vs good that don't change.... I mean, that's pretty true to life if you ask me, whether we like it or not... a lot of people never change lol
Yesterday we had a movie day.. We watched the new Hocus Pocus from disney which was ok sequals are never as good as the original but it was a good time movie..
Then OH saw Nan so we watched that ...Nan is the alter ego of Catherine Tate.. Its ok if you like that humour and there were one or two one liners that did make me giggle but I wouldnt waste money paying to see it..
Sometimes I wonder why I choose to watch a movie. I hear that a movie theater will actually refund your ticket if you walk out early. I can’t remember walking out myself so I’m not sure a refund is the policy for a flop or not.
I know I’ve lost faith in critics. And I don’t like movie advertisements that push a movie’s so-called “importance”. Quite the quandary.
I watched a Season 2 episode of Stargate SG1 tonight. I'd pretty much forgotten about the show, but there are some episodes available on-demand right now with the sci-fi channel I get. Not bad, though probably not the best episode they did. There was a preview at the end for the next show - where have previews gone for most of my shows?! - and I saw that Dwight Schultz (Murdoch on The A-Team, one of my fave 80's shows) came to the show for that episode. I'll try to remember to catch that because he's a lot of fun to watch.
I've never watched Stargate. But I have seen most of the Star Trek original series. It was a nice blend of science fiction, message and humor. Hard to beat that.
