BBC2 Thursday Evening All that glitters . A week by week knock out challenge show with jewellery makers. Some great designs and some really silly ones..
i am hard pressed these days to find a movie that interests me. if it weren't for the live tv i'd cancel my subscription to hulu and just watch the free crap. i'm gonna try 9 perfect strangers. we'll see.
I am guessing that is the name of a tv prog, and not a sexual frisson on your part.
a sexual what? *clueless look*
it is a tv program. i thought it was a movie but i think it's a series. it's actually not bad yet. i can't tell if it's gonna be scary or good. it's got several cast members i'm familiar with so that helps a bit. most of the new tv shows suck. they're more related to modern day issues that i'm not even familiar with so...*shrugs*

I started watching "Dante's Peak" again this afternoon, might finish it tonight. Tomorrow will be Disaster Movie Day because I also have "Volcano" and "Day After Tomorrow" taking up space on the PVR. I'm not sure why I like this genre... I just do!
Also finished the 3rd season of "The Orville" last night. Pretty good overall for sci-fi!

Football starts again this week and so does out FootBall Sunday get togethers. We are looking forward to it and we will be seeing some friends we haven't in a while due to various reasons. Going to warm up the tv now. lol...

I'm afraid I am not a football fan: never have been, never will be.
Still, I can appreciate it's exciting and all that. Also, women's football has come to the forefront of media attention.
so i guess instead of making an entire series now...the producers are making limited time series shows. for example...nine perfect strangers is 8 episodes in season 1. i got curious and there's a 2nd season and the guy from hulu has renewed with whoever to get season 2 but don't know when.

I have heard of a good DVD boxset called "The Summer I Turned Pretty". It is meant to be really good. It is about a teenage girl in the summer holidays. It is nice and lighthearted, without swearing, graphic sex or violence. Young people can easily watch it without worrying about offensive material.

Way to go our women!
Karen is american. She is referring to american football. You are thinking of soccer.
Not too much but occasionally I do watch your Premier league on ESPN here.
That's a lot more than I do lol
I watch my local team from time to time Glasgow Celtic.
Local team? How often do they play in Yorkshire?
I don't generally watch any football but do get involved in the discussion among the guys at our art group sometimes. They are always discussing the current state of teams etc.
I know that probably seems like an insensitive question given what's just happened, but part of me is wondering if streaming services for ITV and the BBC are going to go ahead and put future episodes on their for us to watch
like they did for eastenders when the wimbledon tournament was on

We love All that glitters on BBC2 but that was cancelled too.. Just two foolish reporters repeating the same thing over and over again..

I am having to avoid terrestial tv, I cannot abide Nicholas Wytchell for the grovelling sycophant that he is, or Jenny Bond, who is not a lot better.
Does anyone know why there is not a p in there? As in psycophant.

sycophant
I do agree strongly with you.
Even I am watching less and less TV now. Even the BBC news is tending to spend almost the entire program on a single news item. A few minutes with the actual news item, which is important, and then the next twenty with various peoples opinions and irrelevant speculation on what may or may not happen. It did the rounds with Brexit, continued with covid, had a bit of the Ukraine war, has a least a day and often even more with any government thing, and now the queen, to be closely followed by Charles. One thing I did notice yesterday that, on Sky news which I have followed their thread on the Ukraine war, there were no entries at all for yesterday when I looked in the evening. It cannot be that nothing is happening. It's maybe the manipulative nature of the media. You will see and hear only what we want you to!
I don't doubt the importance of any of the events and, being a royalist, am truly saddened by the current one but to listen to various nobodies whinging and whining on effectively dragging out the agony is not on for me. I remember a while ago tuning in my radio to a English speaking program on Swedish radio and basking in the delights of simple informative local news about people getting things done, not problems and their resulting threats.
