My second Christmas movie was actually another one streamed. It was called The Spruces and the Pines. The two families with those last names had a long-standing feud, but one gal and one guy from each side fell in love and ended up bringing everyone back together. Awww.

The last two evenings we have watched The Truth seekers on Amazon.. Its silly and funny and daft but OH liked it and its English with Simon Pegg and Nick Frost who are experts at doing silly ...

I like light-hearted and funny TV programmes and DVDs. I definitely steer clear of horror. No: I like Father Ted, 2 Broke Girls, Charmed, Alias, Dark Angel, Tru Calling... There are also loads of kids films I love.
There are some brilliant films and TV programmes out there.
One TV programme I won't be watching is "Serpent Queen". It is sick and sadistic.
Maybe others will like it but I am not one of them.
This looks interesting/fun to me if the gore is kept down of off screen. It seems to be done in a dark humours way and not meant to be taken too seriously. I love the fact the lead isn't some 90lb helpless waif and that she decides to take back control of her own lifer after being imprisoned, forced into marriage and abused.

Thanks for the alternate review. Candy has got me curious..

I just watched the trailer.. A bit gory but of course all that will be spread over several episodes.. So the story most likely outweighs the gore.. I might give it a whirl.
We are still watching Designated Survivor.. but The Sandman came out yesterday on Netflix, so we started that, too... since Netflix likes to cancel shows if they don't have enough viewers when they are released. We usually wait to start on shows, but this one is in the same universe as Lucifer... but it seems they are going more with the vibe from the comic books instead of the route they went for Lucifer, so we figured we'd like it. The visuals are pretty great...

I borrowed the first season of Remington Steele from my parents. I may have bought it for Dad several years ago, actually. So far, it's still fun. Maybe that's just my love of '80's TV? (I have the Knight Rider series already, and one season of The A-Team.)

I watch these shows on retro tv and a lot of them are quite good. BTW, Pierce Brosnan, isn't that hard to look at.
i am hard pressed these days to find a movie that interests me. if it weren't for the live tv i'd cancel my subscription to hulu and just watch the free crap. i'm gonna try 9 perfect strangers. we'll see.

I am guessing that is the name of a tv prog, and not a sexual frisson on your part.

Okay, I'm going to try "Star Trek: Lower Decks" again. I saw a TrekCulture video last night that started to convince me, then an IMDB review of the episode that made it seem like the show has reached a great point. Might be like "The Orville" and I'll join when things are running well, then not mind some earlier episodes that don't hit the mark? (Same thing happened with ST:TNG and Enterprise as well, according to all I've read. I still have episodes I like from their earlier seasons...)
I missed that season opener of "Lower Decks" as it aired, but I will likely be able to catch it on demand from the cable company. (I pay for a sci-fi channel from them, and then I get Doctor Who, all the Star Treks, and interesting movies from time to time.)
Last night, as a 4-months-till-Christmas show, I watched "The Runaway Bride" from my recently acquired "Doctor Who" DVDs. Now I wanna see all the episodes with Donna as the companion! (And the comedy skit with the Doctor as her English teacher...)
