Yes it was a bit of a Star Trek rip-off but with none of the political correctness.
The Orville is a loving tribute to Star Trek and it's creator (Seth MacFarlane) has said so many times. As far as the PC he has also stated many times, that it's not their intent to not be PC but more progressive and open then ST was allowed to be.

i ordered hulu +live tv a couple months ago and i found a show the other night called "samantha who?" with that girl that played kelly bundy in married with children. i kinda like this show. it's funny and kinda cute. there's so little on tv that isn't all sex and gore. a real turn off.
I recorded the jubilee concert last night .. It was a bit of a day out for residents of a retirement home.. with many of the 'stars' looking and sounding very aged..
I heard Louis Armstrongs What a wonderful world being tortured and saw Diana Ross looking like a toilet roll dolly ( a nasty 1970s trend) .

Thank goodness it was a one off.
Andrea watched it. I watched Shameless USA version. I am surprised how much sex the usaers have added to that show. I am enjoying it, but I liked the gritty uk version better.

I tried watching "Gods Of Egypt" [the blockbuster] on YouTube: it was rubbish. Not the film: but the YouTube quality of the film. Needless to say, I shall be buying it on DVD. It is such a good film that I am definitely buying it within the next few days.
Watching the second series of Picard, the star trek spin off.. Im reminded of the film ST first contact...
It was pretty good. I think I read too many online comments from people complaining about the writing or the shorter number of episodes, so it's difficult to know if I'd have liked it more with just my own opinion to go by. I have the first season in my collection, so I'll get the second as well. Watching again would be a great idea, especially both seasons one after the other!
I'll watch mostly anything starring Jennifer Garner.
I had to google her lol
You prompted me too! At a quick glance I did not see anything that I have seen which she has been in. I do have the 'Pearl Harbor' DVD which I have not got round to watching yet. She appears to be a minor name on the cast.
There are not many names I know though. I am not an avid follower of movie stars and generally only know the bigger names.

Can I just pinch that, please?

I missed Broadchurch when it aired originally, but finally watched the first episode last night. I'll have to decide if I can handle so much emotion if it continues to feel like that each episode. I used to watch crime/detective shows all the time and didn't get that teary...
I also revisited Dollhouse since I noticed it's on Disney+. I might want to go for a different Joss Whedon and grab my Firefly DVDs, though I do remember watching Dollhouse before and liking it. Not sure this time around.
Best new show for me lately: Ms. Marvel. We've enjoyed the graphic novels our library has (not all in sequence) and I think they're doing a good job bringing it to TV. Makes me want to buy all the graphic novels!
