Almost time for a bunch of Christmas movies to enter the mix here! I saw one on the weekend from 2016 with Joey Lawrence as the dad. It was called "Wish for Christmas" and had a Scrooge/Wonderful Life angle with a teen wishing her parents' faith away so it wouldn't cramp her style, then dealing with the consequences as Christmas approached. I think it wrapped up a bit too quickly, but otherwise was really good.
I'm looking forward to watching "The Nativity Story" again. Love it! (Though there is one historical boo-boo that I can pick out...)
I'm going to hunt for a couple older TV movies online and see if this is the year I track 'em down. Roma Downey, Eric McCormack, and Hector Elizondo were in one called "Borrowed Hearts" that I really liked, and then there was one filmed in Nova Scotia called "Catch a Falling Star" that had Sela Ward and John Slattery.
Other than that, I've got Doctor Who and Star Trek Discovery to keep up on!
They have already started here but I usually wait until December to start watching them.
It's usually then before I watch them too. Christmas is almost like 'wishing your life away' these days with November being bypassed by it and December.
Last weekend the BBC had some programmes featuring the life and music of Freddie Mercury.. I recorded and watched the Final act about his life in the last years and the tribute concert after his death..
Absolutly briiliant moving and sad. Also shining a light on how bad the prejudice surrounding AIDS/HIV was at that time. ( not that its improved much, its just gone underground)

Last night I thought I had purchased Hulu Live TV but because the sight is a touch confusing I only switched from monthly to annual payments. So I had to go in today and get tech assistance. Got a refund and was helped to sign up for the Live TV. Now I can watch stuff I've been wanting to watch without problems. It's $64.99 a mo. till Dec. 21. then it will be $69.99 but it's something to do. I can get more programming I want plus I like The Equalizer with Queen Latifa and Yellowstone. Plus I can watch some sports stuff I like.

I've been streaming through YouTube TV and have no complaints but I am always interested in other servercies. Please let me know how you like this service after you have tried it for awhile.

If it has a lot of stuff you like on it, then it's worth it.
I have Sling TV on a Roku.. there's also the Roku channel... then mostly streaming services, Hulu (mostly use the free version or the cheapest one lol), and Amazon Prime. I haven't felt the need for anything else so far, so it has been working well for me.

I watched part of a recent episode of The Equalizer, just to see what it was like. I knew the basic concept of the show since I had watched reruns of the '80's show when I was younger. I wasn't blown away by the newer one.
I also didn't like Magnum and MacGyver in the new versions. I guess I have to go back to the ones I saw when I was young and get to know some of them again! I might like 'em, might not; but at least I'll have the evidence on hand rather than just the nostalgia factor, right?

The reason why we have YouTube TV is that John likes the NFL Redzone and we can get it here and more importantly they carry a lot of local channels for us.
We're still making our way through the old Dexter.. trying to avoid any spoilers for the new one lol
Avoid the last series. It is dire.
The last series.. as in the final season of the original Dexter or the most recent one out now!?
This is a re-watch for me, but I forgot most of what happened, so it all feels almost new aside from really important plots pieces.. but can't forget how it ends. I wasn't a fan of the ending the first time around. I wonder if my opinion will be slightly different now, as I've become more understanding with age LOL as I rewatch it... I almost do feel like I can see why he did what he did at the very end.... some of the thoughts and conversations throughout the season.. the way he views himself.
{Spoiler Alert!} I guess I can sort of see it more now but before I thought there could just be a happily ever after... or wanted one at least, and they did not give us that.
Johnny Mnemonic.. never watched it, but Netflix said they added it. Might watch it. The trailer I watched had some minor similarities to The Matrix.. maybe that's why the chose him to be Neo lol
I have just finished watching the latest Doctor Who series and am still thinking on it. My mind is that it is either really brilliant or total rubbish - The jury is still out lol.

I'm glad Doctor Who was only six episodes this time and then all brought together - that made it easier for me to hang on and say, it'll make sense soon. I think that I may be used to that from other shows, but less choppy is preferred, of course.

That's brilliant, Mary: I am glad you're happy with your TV subscription. To be fair, there ARE a lot of great TV programmes out there. I'm not an avid TV watcher myself but I can understand why people love their television programmes.
I can't answer that one for you... I got halfway through the first film found it so stupid I fell asleep and I've never bothered trying to follow it again.
