Is there a movie you were surprised you liked? (Sequels count.)
I was going to ask, is there a movie you feel you should like so you pretend you do? But the annual "best picture" winner kind of takes the fun out of that question.
Godfather III was rubbished by the critics. I thought it was the best.
Gone with the Wind was a film I never expected to like. Likewise, My Fair Lady - I tend to dislike musicals.

There's just something special about My Fair Lady.. I also liked it as a kid lol
last night we watched Red Notice, its silly , predictable and a cross between Johnny English and Indiana jones but in slapstick version with worse jokes.

I get to watch Star Trek: Discovery tonight. Season 4 is here!
For movies, I've been revisiting the original X-Men movies. Still love seeing Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen in those roles. One more to go in the original trilogy I remember, then I'll see what other X-Men movies there are. Besides the Black Panther and Captain Marvel, I think the X-Men are my favourite Marvel superheroes...
We're likely going to rewatch all the Matrix movies before the new one comes out... gotta make a movie week event I suppose during my time off in December ;p

Stranger Things sounds like an intriguing programme. I do think if it is enjoyable then who cares if it's a bit silly? Writing that, I have found plot lines in TV and film that are odd or daft but add interest and make the programme more watchable.
A boy called Christmas. A slightly less glitzy Christmas story featuring Maggie Smith, a nice feel good movie for the holiday season.
We had the book the movie is based on, but never got into it. Oopsie! It seems our Christmas picture books are still the hit around here, and we're not ready to move on to most novels for kids that involve Christmas. (One of the Main Street books by Ann M. Martin is the exception, but maybe because it's part of a series. I found the Christmas one first, then we went back and scooped up the rest of them.)
I'm starting to watch Secret Scotland, thanks to a very cool channel here called Knowledge. I get to see most of my British documentaries from there, otherwise from PBS. (Knowledge is basically BC's homegrown version of the USA's PBS. I support both with regular donations.) This type of show is my version of travelling the world on a tight budget. LOL

That Secret Scotland is really good. That girl is a natural presenter.
