Let's face it shooting things in the pitch dark with lots and lots of of the tumble dryer ventilation hoses swinging about doesn't help. And why are there always steam vents blowing off?why if they've managed to get into space and across the Galaxy are they still running on steam? it's not 20000 Leagues under the sea now is it? Having said that I love sci-fi.
Such a cynic
Try fuzzing up your eyes next time you watch it. lol
Ohhhh easy just take my glasses off...
Actually...that might make an awful lot of shows a lot better!
I did get a refund for my ticket to the "Hobbit". I left early, the film is lethal. (I say "Hobbit", I mean whatever was first.)
I have never watched that or The Lord of the Rings. None of it really appealed to me, and I probably would fall asleep.
Then we both have something in common!
I've fallen asleep a fair few times watching films. My eyes just get heavy and that is that. I can't watch a film for longer than two hours before heading off to the land of nod. I can't even watch movies in the daytime because of this. I wake up and the film is finished.

Not a great audience member, am I?!
It usually happens with me just before bedtime. Why is it so easy to fall asleep on the sofa but, on realising and going up to bed, then finding it impossible to fall asleep there lol. I watched quite a few of those type of films with my son, when he was younger, at the cinema. He was, and is, into fantasy. They tended to be very long and it was quite tiring to concentrate for the entire film.

I cannot watch tv between dinner and 7pm or I will fall asleep.

I watched the first episode of "The Collection", historical post WWII drama. Two brothers attempt to return Paris to the peak of fashion design. So far so good after the one episode; clothes and personal conflict, what's not to like?
{Spoiler Alert!}The part that was so dumb funny was the kid eating shaving cream to pretend to eat The Stuff instead of just showing an empty container and saying he ate it.
We're likely going to start on Dexter next... the new season (8 years after the end of the first) will be out in about a week. I have already seen it, but my SO hasn't.. so I am going to watch it with him. It has been a while since I saw it anyway, so I don't remember literally everything, but I do probably remember too much of the big plot parts at least to be surprised again lol

I don't want to watch it. The first few seasons were great. The last two were awful. In fact the last one should have got a golden globe for awfulness. It was dire.

I'm hoping the new one makes up for that finale, so that's why I want to watch it. I've read reviews of critics who already were able to watch it that claim it redeemed itself, so we'll see ;p

Ok. I will look at the reviews, and listen to what you say. Before I close the door.

I failed to do my homework, so I had no clue when I started watching TV yesterday that Promotheus was an Alien movie. I would have skipped it if I'd known. But beyond being a bit confused since I didn't know about the connection, I found it just okay. Not scary, so that's good to know - I avoid horror flicks because I don't get the desire to be scared by something... I do like sci-fi, though, and it was on a sci-fi channel... Now I've done some poking around for info and discovered how old the first Alien movie is and also scanned a list of shows that have spoofed bits of it. I'd only known about the Spaceballs connection.
Today, I watched Enterprise again. I've left it for a bit, but it's nice that I can have it to watch when I'm not sure what else I want to see. I'm still on Season 1, but getting closer to the end. And Season 2 is on the way...
Oh, we also tried Star Trek: Prodigy on Thursday. I'm hoping it'll be something the kids enjoy and that it won't go too serious and scare the youngest.
Jodie Wittekers last, I wont say she has been bad but where all other DR's needed a companion she needed a gang. The writing has been pretty dismal since Russell T Davies left so the great news is that he is back although this season is still under the control of Chris Chibnall who might be great at other things but Dr Who isnt one of them.
I haven't enjoyed Dr Who since I was a kid. I tried it again a few years ago when people were saying it was great, but pfffft.
I like Christopher Eccleston and David Tennet, I was less keen on Matt Smith although Karen Gillan carried much of the show then. Peter Capaldi looked every inch the part and I so wanted him to be the difinitive Dr Who of this time but the writing was dreadful and the storylines were absurd and pitiful.
Jodie Wittaker could be so good but again the storys are often weak and far too 'woke' in many cases. Shes reduced tpo playing the part as if shes a 16 yr old dizzy blonde in charge of her dads new car, showing off yet being so very careful..
I hope next season will see a return to good stories and some decent sci fi action.

I meant to try the Peter Capaldi version, but never got round to it. I think he is a great actor. He was great in Local Hero, and he was the best in The Thick Of It. Which was sheer genius, and actually came across as how life in politics actually is. That show was actually 80% scripted and 20% improvisation.
Pris, I think you would love that show. It is hard edge comedy politics, and pure genius.

"In the Thick of It"? I do follow politics mildly but tend to avoid fictionalized versions. But thank you for the tip, I'll take all the help I can get.
PS. Not sure you would agree, but it must be getting quite hard to do political satire these days.
Oh, "WE" is about King Andrew and his abdication of the throne...all over Wallis.

It's more about the inter relationships within politics, and how selfish they all are. It is like something you will never have seen before, but you will believe that is probably fairly close to reality.
