I watched the rather cute film the other day called yesterday. It centres around the Beatles music so if you don't like Beatles music don't bother. Basically after a worldwide power outage that lasts only 12 seconds a struggling musician finds that the Beatles have never existed and he is the only one who remembers their music. He starts singing their songs and turns into a world wide mega star but the fact that he has in fact stolen the music really bothers him.
It was gentle it was funny and it was enjoyable.. oh and it was British!

That was a really pleasant film, and not just for beatles fans. For I am not in that club.

The main character is Indian? if so, then I have seen it.
If you dont mind subtitles and like a true story , the hell of 63, a Dutch film about the 11city skating marathon in 1963. Its gruelling in any year its skated 200km on natural ice across the province but 63 was the worst, of the 9294 starters only 69 finished.

I took advantage of a freebie on STARZ, "The Spanish Princess". I liked it, two seasons. Henry VIII and his first wife Katherine. Maybe a bit too much fiction.
Which reminds me, do you prefer fantasy or more realistic science fiction? "Star Wars" I classify as fantasy. But the Death Star still irritates me. I mean, where does the gravity aboard come from?

..and what is the point of all that armour the storm-troopers wear? It seems to have no benefit.
To say nothing of why the emperor would even want to rule the entire galaxy? What a rotten miserable job that must be. All those decisions, all those meetings, all those think tanks.... H E L P!

Cherry... you just have to come over to the dark side... lol...

Hmm.. I'm not sure actually. I guess I like both or a mixture of the two even. Pretty much all the space shows I watch are fun, and they do seem to be a mix of the two!

I don't usually go for pure fantasy at all but do like it when I can link things into real science. That way I prefer Star Trek to Star Wars but like both.
It's interesting and makes me wonder, getting into reality, as to exactly what would happen. Any physical object has gravity, even something like a marble, but the force is weak. When you get to planet size you do get what we have here on Earth. On the Moon it is far less so the astronauts could jump or play gold easier lol. From that, taking the Death Star as a moon size object it would have detectable gravity, but how much? Without the spinning that they have suggested from time to time certainly not enough to appear to walk normally. One thought that does occur to me, taken from the idea of the ways the Romulan drive motors use in Star Trek, what would happen if a miniature black hole, or maybe more likely supercompressed matter, was held at the centre of such an object. Maybe useable gravity? What occurs to me though is that the Death Star is so close to a planet. The interaction would be far less predictable. I will make anything work lol.
A 200-pound man would "weigh" about 33 pounds on the moon (mass remains unchanged of course). The moon has a diameter of about 2,160 miles I think. To my knowledge, the moon is also essentially a solid mass. The Death Star's diameter is only about 99-miles and is mostly empty space it appears.
Even with the armor, the storm troopers would be essentially weightless. Luke and Leah really didn't need a bridge to make there get-away.
Maybe we all should re-visit Star Trek. Remember the episode where the crew encounters a race of people half black and half white? Problem being...one group were black on their right side, another group just the opposite. Seems timely.

I'm not really a TV person. In fact, I attended night school for 5 years. If I hadn't, I wouldn't have the qualifications I gained. Because if I'd stayed in watching Star Trek or whatever, I would not have my charity job. I also attended a social club in the evening for many years. I had experiences and friends I wouldn't have today if I had watched TV. I talk to my friends on the phone in the evening, too.
I can happily live without the television. Plus, you don't see the actors watching TV. I feel like a sucker watching actors: they're having the time of their lives, but they would never be that way with me. They live in their mansions while we all live with lesser money. It puts me off watching TV. I don't like canned entertainment, either. I would much rather be on the Internet.
