That's good. Maybe we can make use of the knowlege now
I've heard of self-healing cement for years being 'new' and 'the future,' but they are using slightly different ingredients that they discovered worked similarly (I think it is with bacteria or something of that sort), but it's crazy how long ago they already were doing this, and we couldn't figure it out lol

Evening . Concrete , Yet and depends on where the cement comes from and the sand and size of the grit and any additive and water , the cure time for ours in NZ any way is 21 days ,
Now volume is importaint very, in fact too wet is a sloppy mix and is weakened depends on where is used and some mix,s are only good for a path not for a beam or piller as it can break down now steel is an other matter if has scale or rust on it your in a lot of strife because water cement dont bind so you allready set it up to blow and i have seen it the cover between the steel to out side of concrete needs to be 2 " in,
I did 100,s of yard,s of concrete on big building sites so i got to see and work with it by hand mixing and being brought in by the truck load,s
Get a crack in the concrete and water gets in and is blown out oh dear try and fix it, done that as well.
If ya wont to get all what we say tech about it yes ya can do some reading and can be interesting if ya into mud ......lol,s sssss
I thought it might be nice to have a thread dedicated to Black History Month since it is that time of year again and just as I am typing this post moments ago learned a Black History fact.
I was interested on when women first became firefighters in the United States of America and it turns out that the answer that I thought was correct, circa early 20th century, was in fact incorrect as the correct answer was exactly the year 1815.
The first known and documented woman firefighter was Molly Williams who was a slave in New York City and would later go to become a member of the Oceanus Engine Company #11 in the aforementioned year 1815.
I really need to keep a diary to keep track of some of these interesting and perhaps lesser known historical figures. I really do not wish to forget about any of them.
Anyway, feel free to share some of your unexpected Black History Month lessons.

I remain fascinated by Hitler's rise to power. The actual war, not so much.
People should learn from history. That's the way to make progress.
I like that Western culture chose to celebrate "birthdays" and not "death days".
I like this post: I agree with your comment, priscillams: "People should learn from history. That's the way to make progress."
I just wish people in power thought this way: we can learn many things from the past.
I think that it goes very much like inventions. As I have said before, very few new things are invented. They are just revamped. In the same way I don't think people really learn. They so often create the same mistakes in trying to do something they think is better. In effect, just revamping yet again.
Progress and ethics. I'd argue the discovery of atomic energy is progress. I think I'd argue the military uses, A and H-bombs, aren't. The uses of both falls to ethics.
I want to see a female president in the next 8 years.
Both here and in the US, I just hope that whatever leaders we get they are capable of doing the job. We can speak from recent experience that some women just don't.
It is easy to say "I want a woman to be elected president". But why? Just to have one?
To me, you need to identify the candidate. Hopefully one that offers more than her gender.
This honestly should be the case with any politician, but identity politics tend to blind people.
There is likely going to be a woman president, but she’s going to be of a party that most of the American public is going to hate leading her to get more shit than Bush/Obama because of her gender.

I never had much interest in WWI but a single spark between Serbia and Austria seemed to ignite it.
I wonder if something small could start WWIII and that small something might involve Iran.
We can all argue whether the Trump sanctions on Iran would destroy Iran’s economy enough to prevent Iran from having nuclear weapons. But Biden eliminated them.
Now it is being reported Iran may be only days away from a nuclear weapon.
Two things to remember. Israel is a small country, one nuclear bomb could destroy it. Remember too, Iran is Islamic and loss of life in Jihad isn’t discouraged especially if Israel were to be destroyed.
So, if Israel feels threatened with an imminent nuclear attack, Israel may not hesitate to use nuclear bunker buster bombs to destroy Iran’s well protected weapon building infrastructure. In the end, life or death decisions become simple.
Russia is now tight with Iran, With nuclear bombs going off in the Middle East, Putin may not hesitate their use in Ukraine. WWIII?

The danger is that Israel is such a small country. They will be very quick to respond with nuclear force if they feel threatened. One issue is that Israel is so small though. Other countries in the arab world would be irradiated. Iran would be wary of annoying them?
