I'm a traditionalist. The human reproductive system is likely covered in a HS biology class. When it comes to sex and sexual behavior, that I think is best left to the family. If the schools can at least teach kids to be proficient in math, reading and proper grammar, most everything else will be OK.
For an obviously intelligent woman, your lack of understanding of people is just remarkable.
As for your priorities, yes maths and reading are very necessary in this world, most every single. But so many people have little use every day of the week for "proper grammar".
Preventing unwanted pregnancies is so important, financially for all of us, socially and culturally, and even ecologically.
How you can't see that is actually rather sad. Is it a reflection on the way you were brought up?

I think you may be underestimating the intelligence of the general public. Unwanted pregnancies today are so easily preventable. A sex Ed class can't replace the family. (Some subsets of the population are actually in decline.)
and written Don't sell proper grammar short. It is necessary for clarity in verbal communication, the purpose of language after all.

Am I really?
Perhaps you can explain why there are so many unwanted pregnancies, if it is not a lack of information?
Then you can tell me why the family information service was deemed to be unsuitable, as proven by so many unwanted pregnancies?

Spoken grammar is not an issue. People learn that through exchanging speech with others, and knowing the definition of an apostrophe makes no difference in speech.
Humor is most often intentional, satire always so. Thanks for noticing P&C.
Discipline begins at home.
A girl taught to be proficient academically doesn't need a course in sex Ed to prevent an unwanted pregnancy.
None are so deaf as those who refuse to listen.
Would it help if I pointed out that afaik the majority of unwanted pregnancies are at the lower end academically?
Probably not, but I did try.
To put a spanner in the works - The unwanted pregnancies you mention are often with girls / women who either want to grow up too fast or otherwise often reject education. The family situation is a major factor and internal strife really messes with any attempt of a sensible approach. Educating a girl is the way it's been done which cuts pregnancies down but the only real answer would be if the whole social group were educated. Pretty near impossible?
"None so deaf as those who refuse to listen" is a sentence I could use to describe many families who I have visited over the years. The girl either grows the same or tends to follow their parental upbringing - Often the same result in either case.
The New Forest dates back to the time of William the Conqueror in 1066.
In 1079 he designated the area Nova Foresta (New Forest) intended for his use of hunting ‘beasts of the chase’ (primarily deer and wild boar).
Rather than me lapse into creating a Novella to explain its history, there is a very good, and detailed, historic reference to the New Forest on a website called the Real New Forest Guide.
It is well worth checking out the link when you have a bit of time to spare. It gives everything you need to know about the area, from the flora and fauna, to the reptiles, to the New Forest Ponies, and much much more.
